Estrace 1 mg?

I a 6 weeks post-op and have felt pretty good until the last week or so.

I am so sick of my super dry skin I could scream. I am also having pain and burning in my vaginal/ureatha area (not a UTI though).

I am also now feeling kind of blah, depressed and my body feels stiff and tired.

My question is - am I getting enough estrogen? I am 38 and had a TAH/BSO. Would more estrogen and some testosterone make me feel better?

Anyone else have these problems?

Estrace 1 mg?

Hi there, I just saw my doc today and he has decided to put me on Estrace 1mg by mouth every day. I still have one ovary, but have had two hot flashes, but I think they were fairly minor and the insomnia since the surgery has been terrible. I do feel kinda blah too, motivation for much of anything is low. I hope the hormone helps, but I'm really just going into it with a "try and see" approach. I have to admit to being fairly ignorant about HRT.
Good luck and let me know how you're doing!

Estrace 1 mg?

I read you are feeling blah...me too...kind of hollow headed I guess. I know it was a tradeoff with the ovaries/hysterectomy sacrifice for my very life so that helps me to try and see the glass half full. I'm also wondering about the testosterone or estrace. The only time I feel fully alive is when I'm running and I've been logging 10 mile jaunts recently, weight lifting, yoga, dieting. Hey that stuff really works! Hahaha...ok, I did loose some weight, get in much better condition post op but darn I'm doing it all in a fog of fatigue, forgetfulness and missing my libido. Anyone seen it out there? Send that girl home! Noom

Estrace 1 mg?

Hey Sheila...Same Op Day Sister.....

What we are feeling must be Normal...I'm reading the same things over and over. The first week or so we feel great..lotsa energy, happy and ******.

Then as our body depletes what hormones we had, we start feeling tired, lost, and just the thought of sex makes us wimper.

It totally amazes me how much of an impact our hormones have on our sence of well-being!! It makes me wonder how many things were being caused by hormones in the past few years rather than seratonin and norepenephrin (sp) (depression).

I'm taking Estradiol .05 mg, next to lowest dose, and I'm having the same symptoms you are. I have 6wk checkup today, and will ask dr. about all this, and will report back tomorrow if possible.

I'd feel better knowing this too shall pass....SOON.

Estrace 1 mg?

Hi Noom ---- I lost my libido also and when I got on some testosterone I felt much better. I do not cry everytime my husband wants sex now. I have been using the cream (bio-identical) type for about two years and I went to a hormone specialist ( their are a few doc. out there that specialize in hormones) a few months ago and they said that my levels were to low. They were around 47 and my gyn/ob always said that was normal. The hormone specialist says that I need to get the levels up to around 150. That sarced me but I listened to them and had the pellet (bio-identical) put in under my skin in the buttock area. It will last from 3 to 6 months depending on the person. My levels are now around what they said and I feel great and there is no side-effects and I am not going hair or doing anything strange. It also helped with getting rid of the belly fat that comes on with a hyserectomy. One thing to remember is you have to get all your hormones leveled out like when you use to make them. Good luck
