I have a really stupid question

Hi Spikey;
The only written instructions I have for my post op for removal of scar tissue and suture removal due to a bladder suspension that was to 'high'. was no driving, pelvic rest x six weeks. I was also told before surgery no heavy lifting. I am sorta unsure what pelvic rest means?
Thanks

I have a really stupid question

Good question - it's really vague, isn't it? I could venture guesses, but why don't you call and ask them. If they are going to make vague statements the least they can do is explain themselves. yes?
I assume it means don't do things that stress that area of the body. I'm an interpreter - If someone said something like that I would say - could you give me an example please??

I have a really stupid question

Thanks, good idea I will ask tomorrow. The problem is tomorrow is my two week post op checkup and I JUST found the paper they gave my husband when I left the hospital he signed it and I guess didn't realize it had instructions on it. I so want to do everything right as I am desperate for this surgery to work . I'll ask tomorrow and hope nothing I have done was harmful.

I have a really stupid question

I am 3 weeks out from my TOT and my doc gave me a bunch of discharge instructions, but usually pelvic rest means no sex. That is what my doc told me. Also no heavy lifting for 6 weeks and no driving for at least 2 weeks. Haven't tried yet, I just let hubby drive me where I need to go.
Good luck! Let us know what your doc says.

I have a really stupid question

My Dr explained "pelvic rest" as no sex. A friend of mine's Dr also used this term after her abdominal/female surgery.
As stated though, the only way to know for sure what YOU'RE Dr's means by this is to call and ask.

take care
