Did OVCA TV spot; sort of good news; good news; sad news

I filmed a TV spot today for one of the local channels for OVCA awareness that included a general interview here at home and then my blood draw at the clinic and my meeting with my MD. They had said to "fake it" with the MD but I didn't want to waste his time, so with camera rolling I got down to business. The CA125 came down a bit from 49 to 45; I am stabilizing off in that region with disease. The good news is that the liver ultrasound done earlier this month does not show anything; it was done after some of my liver test results were very high. The sad news is two deaths this month; one an OVCA friend here and the other my best buddy/confidant second cousin who died on 9/11 very unexpectedly from asthma/respiratory failure. It's been a rough time lately--but this makes it look better.

I'm so sorry to hear of the deaths you have had to experience. I'm sure the death from ovca inspires you even more to keep up the wonderful job you do for ovca awareness/advocacy.

Sure would be nice if we could see that commercial. Is there a way to do that by chance?

Keep up the good work and congrats on that stable CA125.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and your cousin's deaths. I pray you find comfort and peace.

And now, for the good news, you celebrity you. How great is that? A spot on t.v. and a lower CA125 to boot. I'm so happy for you and so proud of you for getting the word out about ovca. I sent an article in to our local newspaper for Sept. Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. It sort of got lost on page 13 with a lot of other 'stuff' but it's a start I guess.

You ROCK!

Dear Ellen,

So very sorry to hear about the recent losses of your ovca friend and your cousin/best buddy. Even in grief, you continue your resolve to enlighten and inform others about ovarian cancer. As other Sisters have said...you are a true inspiration.

I concur with Lori... I sure wish there was some way we could get a peek at your interview. Any chance of that?

Good news on your stable ca125.

Hugs, Diane
