Oh My Uterus Hurts! Wait! I don't Have One!!!
Have you ever caught yourself saying that. I said it all the time before my surgery. Now when I say it I crack myself up.
Anyway I experienced my first sneeze and cough today. Who's cruel joke was that? There was absolutely NO warning from my MALE Dr. Gee I wonder why. He has been wonderful on all counts except for experiencing female problems.
I have been feeling really good. Even better after a BM!!!LOL!!!
Keep Smiling

Yeah, sneezing and coughing isn't fun after surgery...especially a TAH! For some reason I didn't sneeze for almost two weeks, which was a God-send. Of course, they tell you to cough (with a pillow over your stomach) to keep your lungs clear, but that isn't something I looked forward to. Good luck!

venting look out
Speaking of boys who are dr. When I spoke to anesthesiologist ( sp??) I specifically asked him for anti nausau drugs. I had a spinal with morphine shot into spine which gave me first 24 hours with little pain. But I had seen who nauseaous morphine made dh after his surgery a year before. So he tells me very minimal chance of nausau and off I go to sleep. The very first thing I did in recovery room was open eyes , bolt upright and puke. I kept puking till they found dr and gave me anti nausau drugs.
Sneezing was pits but puking was a nite mare
thanks for letting me vent

Hey Edie! I know precisely what you are talking about. For so long I'd say "oh my OOOOOvaries" for ever little ache or pain. Though I still have my ovaries, the pains are gone. So DH asked last night -- "hey, you're ovaries aren't griping as much these days."
