Unhappy - Pinched Ureter Pinched Ureter

Following my VALH, I found out that my right ureter was pinched with a suture. Thusly my ureter blew a hole in itself, close to but not at my bladder. Two attempts have been made to run a stent, both unsuccessful, and the third and last attempt will be in early November. If this doesn't work I'm looking at surgery in January. They finally decided to let me go back to work, I'm a stage hand so I lift lots of heavy things, and the gym as long as I protect the tube with a brace of some kind. I'm hoping that the stent will run and I can lose this wretched bag. (Do you have any idea how hard it tis to find jeans that sit below your waist with wider legs?) Anyhow....wish me luck!

nwesty1, how frustrating to have to deal with that on top of your recovery--arrrggh! S to you. You have already been through an awful lot. Do they think placing the stent will then allow your ureter to heal by itself and maybe let you avoid surgery all together? I know having to do surgery again is not what we ever really want to hear. I'm wishing you the very best of luck and health and everything like that ++++.......

Pinched Ureter

I feel for you, I would be at the end of my rope, if I were you. You are a very brave strong women to be going back to that type of physical job.

Pinched Ureter

Well gang the stent didn't make it so I'm scheduled for "repair" on January 15th. They have take out the blockage and re-attach my ureter to my bladder. The doc says I'll probably be able to return to work after 6 weeks. Not looking forward to the prep but this nephroscopy tube and bag is getting really old, really fast. It seems that I will keep the tube and bag for about two weeks in addition to a catheter, (who wants to go out in the winter in the midwest anyway?). Keep me in your thoughts as you are all in mine.
