1 Yr Anniversary Today

Today is my 1 year anniversary of my TAH. They are right when they say it takes a year to heal. While the physical scar is healed I don't think the emotional one is yet. But I'm getting there. I had back to back major surgeries and I think that is why it is taking me a little longer. Not long before my TAH I had a total thyroidectomy due to Graves disease. I guess my major issue right now is getting my hormones adjusted. But I really am happy this site was here to answer all those questions that you didn't want to keep calling the dr. for. Thank you hystersisters for being there!

Congratulations on getting a year behind you. Each day matters a little more, post-hyst, doesn't it? That's my experience, at least. All the little things that could drive me crazy . . . well, they just don't, any longer.

Graves disease isn't pleasant, to be sure, and you have been through an awful lot, with that. (I have hypothyroidism, a version of the opposite.) You have been through such a lot in the past year, so there is much to be thankful for. I hope they can get the hormones adjusted for you soon.
