symptoms of recurring cervical cancer
does anyone know of any symptoms of recurring
cervical cancer?? and where is it mostly likely to surface again?
i have been having pain about an inch above my scar..i shouldn't really say pain...it's sore to touch..almost like a burning sensation..no cramps, and it doesn't hurt with movement...i called my doc, and they are sending me for a pelvic ultrasound tomorrow.

symptoms of recurring cervical cancer
I went to my doc for the very same thing, but it turned out to be really nothing. I still have it from time to time. He said that sometimes it's just there for no apparent reason - maybe a nerve grew into scar tissue. He also said that hernias could appear in that location as well.
As for where cervical cancer is most like to recur, I was told by several of my docs that it would most likely be at the vaginal cuff if it were to come back, and that is why I had the internal radiation directed right there.
Hopefully you will find that it's nothing or something very minor. At least your doctor is getting something done right away and then you can get whatever it is taken care of. Most likely it's nothing to worry about, but let us know how the us goes.
Good luck!

It sounds identical. It was pretty close to my scar, and I felt it above and below and to the right. But it did burn - my dr specifically asked that question. Mine was a little more obvious. It eventually went away - hopefully you will experience the same thing.

kara - I had a suprapubic cath for quite a long time. After it finally came out and the hole healed over, I found that if I touched the scar --even gently -- the pain was like a bad burn. It had to do with deep scarring. Two years later, I still have pain in that area and want to get some scar therapy from a massage therapist (though - it must not bother me too much since I keep saying I want therapy but haven't yet gone through with it.) Anyway, I know yours is not right on the visible scar, but perhaps it's on internal scarring. Good luck!
