Those of you using femring-- are you on the .05mg or the .1mg dose? Do you find that the .1mg last longer than the .05mg?

Hi!

I don't use Femring, but I would think that if someone is using the lower dose and feeling well she would feel that she was getting too much estrogen if she switched to the higher dose. I would liken it to a woman doing well on the 0.05mg dose of Vivelle Dot changing to the 0.1mg dose--she would have symptoms of too much estrogen because the dose is higher than she needs.

I hope someone who uses Femring will come along to share thoughts/experiences.

I am on .1, and I think it is okay for me. I have less than 30 days left on this ring, changing it on 11/12. I am curious if it will last up until then, or if I will feel signs of low estrogen.

I also am on .1 Femring and I think I am going to stay with it so far. Doctor says I need .1 because I no longer have ovaries and not quite menopause age. This will be the second 3 month cycle on it. The first time I think it gave out 2 weeks early I felt overwhelming anxiety. Doctor says to remove it and rinse it off if that happens. One more month left and doing OK will see if it lasts the whole 3 months.

Kellyr, thanks for the tip on rinsing the ring. I'll try that to see if maybe I get a little estrogen boost, as I have been having small power surges off and on the past couple of weeks.

I was on both dosages a while back. With both.....I discovered that I barely made it six weeks before it ran out. I was using up the estrogen so quickly. Since insurance wouldn't cover a more frequent change, I had to stop using it.
