Question - pain w/urination especially in a.m. pain w/urination especially in a.m.

hello all of you ladies. it has been quite a while since i have been here. i had alot of trouble after my hyst, and recovery was very slow and painful. i was told that i probably have adhesions. i still have alot more pain then i thought i would by now, but what is normal this far out? i hurt quite a bit when i first wake. it takes an hour or two, to get flexible, and moving well. it always hurts when i urinate. it isn't a burning. it is like i am still so bruised. ?? i have given up going to the doctors. they just don't help. i think they would like to, it doesn't work though. do any of you sisters have any ideas? i don't want to hurt anymore. i have moved on so much. i am so thankful to still be alive. everyday is a gift. i just would much rather end the hurt. all ideas would be very much appreciated. hugs all around. h

What kind of pain are you experiencing during urination? Is it only during urination or does the bladder area hurt continuously? Have you been examined by a urologist?

pain w/urination especially in a.m.

Hi I am 6.5 ! Months post op (tah). I came back here today hoping to find help with how sore and bruised my bladder feels and how long after I pee it feels really sore and raw.Started right after my post op check of course ! Dr says no sign of infection in urine work up and how do I know it is my bladder that I am feeling as sore (argh). I have been having small amount of leakage and I get up 3 times atleast at night .But mostly it is just so uncomfortable. I am not sure what to do or how to get help.I think after reading some of these posts I will go back to the Dr and ask for either help or a refferal. But I sure could use any ideas you all might have.

See a urologist...they can take a scope and look down there...I wouldn't wait one more minute...different areas of our country have more information or access then others...check out some notable hospital information like the "Mayo clinic" in Minnasota or top Universities. You can find out by typing in google "Top urology studies USA" for starters and see what you get. Don't wait, get help. dac

I have had the same sort of problem and it has been 3 years.(I did have the incontinence before my TAH). I have gone to my GYN and GP. My GYN said from her exam there was no atrophy but I did have a UTI. But other times when I thought I had an UTI I didn't. My GP referred me to an urologist I am glad I went. No infection showed up, but the exam showed the area red and irritated. He said it probably was partly because of a yeast infection. He said that my bladder had dropped somewhat, but not enough to have to do any surgery for a sling, and he didn't seem to think that was the main cause. He asked if I used pads for the incontinence and I do (I use sanitary napkins-Stayfree Heavy Flow-cheaper than the pads made for incontinence and work just as well for me). According to him that could contribute to the irritation and yeast infection. He gave me 2 prescriptions, one for a yeast infection and one for Estrace cream. It is an estrogen cream to put on the vaginal area. He told me that the Premarin I was taking probably wasn't enough estrogen for the vaginal area. He said that surprisingly it can also help with incontinence like mine ("spurt & dribble"stress incontinence) I am on my second day with this medication. I think it is too soon to tell yet. He said I should know within about 2 weeks if the cream is helping. I hope this has helped you, even a little. mmw

Question - pain w/urination especially in a.m. pain w/urination especially in a.m.

i hurt in the abdomen when i wake in the a.m., after a long car ride, after sitting for a while, and sometimes out of the blue. it is a deeply bruised feeling when i am passing urine. i have difficulty keeping the stream going. it will stop, and then start again if i wait a few minutes. i never know if i have emptied or not. ?? i can go to the bathroom 15 minutes later, and go again, sometimes. there really isn't any burning, or fever. i also have no problems with incontinence. i will go to a doc in a month or so. our company is changing insurance plans, to a better one, so i really should wait. these bills have been a little tough on my family. i wonder if i should go to a urologist. ?? does anyone else feel like the doctor dance doesn't seem to deal out many answers? also, could a body develop adhesions in the bladder? thanks so much. hugs to all of you.

I'm sorry to hear you are still in so much discomfort!
Definitely go see a uro...and keep going until you find one who will listen to you! I get so frustrated when they don't listen, it's my body, and I know it very very well! I think they forget that sometimes. I went thru every dr in the local phonebook and the one for the next major city near me.......finally I got one whom I just love! Don't give up and don't listen to the ones who don't listen to you! Of course I'm not a dr., but it is possible you have scar tissue pulling on your bladder. They told me after my hysto that I had a lot of scar tissue pulling on everything in there....might be worth asking about when you do go back to the dr.
Good Luck to you!

thank you suzie. i will go see a doc when things get bad enough. i am just not in that big of a rush. ha! i guess that i have gotten used to it. i am waiting for that magic "year" mark. one of the docs i saw said time would be my best friend, as my pain level would decrease as it passed. i suppose i am becoming concerned because of the stop/ start stuff. thank you for your concern. you seem very sweet. does it really sound like i should go to the doc again? or at what point is it considered no longer a choice? hmmmm.

I would go see another doctor - a urologist or a urogynocologist. I do hope you find relief soon.
