One week post-op - new cramping?
Hello, lovely sisters....my LAVH and BSO was a week ago today, and until yesterday, I'd had seemingly little pain except for the small incision sites. Yesterday and continuing into today, I've had pain that feels like period cramps. Is this normal post-op healing pain, seeing as it didn't start for a week? I did take a walk around the block yesterday for the first time.

One week post-op - new cramping?
777 - I think most of us have found that each week brings a little different pain for the first 3-4 weeks. I think the first week we are still fairly numb, but tender, but as things start to heal (nerves, tissue, muscles, etc) you can start feeling some cramping and pains. When I would be up for a bit longer than I should I found this could be pretty painful cramps...
By week three and four, things started to settle down for me, I knew what the pains were and made sure to rest when I felt I needed it.
If the pain does not get better it could be a sign of another issue and you shouldn't put off calling the doctor.
Remember, don't overdo it, this is your big chance to heal properly. Lot's of rest, lot's of fluids, short slow walks and lot's of pampering.
I'll send some good thoughts your way!

One week post-op - new cramping?
Each week will bring a new set of aches and pains. I had after a week a more cramping like feeling too. Now I am a little over 3 weeks and I am not getting that cramping anymore.
Also, by the two week mark you will start to feel like a pulling/burning type of pain too...that is stitches dissolving...so don't be alarmed.
But any pain that develops that is severe and is not lessened by laying down or you develop a fever you should call the doc if that happens.
You will be week 3 start feeling a lot better. You'll be surprised. Hang in there..it does get better.
Have a great evening.

One week post-op - new cramping?
HI,
I had the same experience. I am 12 weeks post-op and still have crampy spells. I think I am done with the twinges and then it starts up again. guess it goes with the territory.

One week post-op - new cramping?
Thanks SO much for your feedback and good thoughts, ladies. I was so encouraged by how pain-free I'd been after my incision owies eased, and now to have the type of pain I had the surgery to relieve is somewhat discouraging...but if it's a necessary part of healing, I'll understand that and deal.

I've had those too, my daughter gave them a name
Phantom
Menstrual
Syndrome I used a heating pad sometimes to ease the pain and discomfort. I'm hoping these pains will soon pass for both of us!
