Hot flashes but I still have an ovary??
It has been 11 days post op and I am still getting hot flashes. Is anyone else having this problem? My gyn did not tell me if there where any side effects (hormonal) since I have one ovary left. Just wondering if this is normal.

Hot flashes but I still have an ovary??
Perfectly normal.
My DR said it could last a few months, until my ovary kicked back into functioning capacity.
Wishing you an uneventful recovery!

Hot flashes but I still have an ovary??
I had a TAH,RSO and it took about 2 weeks or so for my one ovary to kick in and until then I had hot flashes and mood swings. Boy was my hubby glad when it started working as I am not normally moody and it was a shocking change. He was awesome through it all. I am now 5 weeks out and everything seems to be working as it should. Hang in there.

Hot flashes but I still have an ovary??
I had menopause symptoms mixed in with PMS for a few months after my hyst -- so much so that my GYN and I discussed going back on bcp for awhile! Things did settle down for me and my ovaries decided to get back to work!
Give yourself a little time. Hopefully the "shock" to your ovaries wears off soon! If not, talk to your dr about your options!

Hot flashes but I still have an ovary??
The ovaries tend to 'fall asleep' following surgery. If you do a forum search on 'sleeping ovaries' you'll find lots of posts.
Mine took about 2-3 months to 'wake-up' and start functioning normally again. The timing is different for everyone, though.
