Abdominal exercises after surgery?

Hi! I am going on 2 months since my hysterectomy (Aug 1). Two yrs ago in April I lost 33 lbs and reached my goal weight through exercise and Weight Watchers. So after my op I didn't exercise util 4 weeks after. I have not gained weight, in fact I lost 5 more lbs and have kept it off. However, I still am not doing abdominals. I want to ask what are the best exercises to start with to strengthen my abdominals yet not overdue it. Thanks! ;-)

Abdominal exercises after surgery?

I was advised by two different physiotherapists (one a gyne specialist) not to do any ab work until about four months post op and then take it very slowly. I had LAVH with no unusual post op problems. Before then I just did simple pull in of the tummy muscles while standing- not extra effort, just a pull in. I found that did help to keep some strength in the muscles. Don't worry they get back to normal quickly- though in my case there is a layer of fat there too! It is worth taking it easy to heal properly.
