Confused!!!
O.K. I had a TAH/BSO on Aug. 25th, everything went great, all by the book. My recovery was text book, then at about 4-5wks I started having a nasty (brownish/yellowish) discharge. I had not had any bleeding or discharge since I left the hospital. Went to doc. for my 6wk. ck. up and was told the discharge was due to an infection on the inside, put me on oral antibotics (1wk.) and told me I didn't need to come back until June 2007. O.K. fastforward to today, I am still having the discharge, nothing has really changed with taking the meds. My question. I know that some discharge is normal, but what? How much? I just don't want to have to go into the doc. again. My husband is growing very impatient, we haven't attempted the dirty deed yet! Ha! Ha! I don't know what to do. HELP!!

If you are still having discharge, sounds like antibiotic didn't work. I would go back to Dr. for sure! Some bugs don't respond to some drugs! Good luck! Hope that helps!

I agree with Laurie, go to the doc to be on the safe side. Let him/her take a look - you might need a different antibiotic.
Keep us posted on what the doc says.

Thanks ladies, I guess I knew that would be the answer but I just didn't want to see the doc. anymore. I was soooo excited when he said June 2007, that would be the longest time I've went without seeing the doc. in over 2 yrs. I guess I'll be making a phone call Monday morning. Thanks Again

Yup I too would call the doc back.
Better to take care of it now than to have it spread or get worse OR if it is a certain type of bacteria, and hubby and you do the deed, he 'could', unlikely but possible, contact it and carry it and give it back to you.... that would just not be fun. That is what happened to a girlfreind of mine anyway.... she kept getting BV (bacteria vaginosis - or something like that) and not until they treated her hubby and her at the same time, did it go away.
BUT I could be way off and it could be something way different but still, this could be something you explain to your hubby to help his patience along.
Good luck with the doc - you are going to call right?
And good luck with keeping hubby happy too.
