Sunny Sunday and a new begining!

Good morning all -

I have been gone for a week since my last post. Woke up Tuesday morning and couldn't move my left leg without considerable pain - called family, they couldn't move me, so call emergancy and got sent to emergancy room again - this time they lost me for about 2 hours before they found me (will tell about later, good Halloween story!).

Shot me up with more pain killers and waited all day, shot me with more, finally was able to get up - gave me all kinds of meds and have been home off work for rest of week. Regular doc doesn't want me going back to work until it finally stops, but I need to get back on Monday and it's bareable now.

Doc doesn't want to schedule MRI until pain goes down (he says will make worse). Meanwhile, he says continue to go to chiro and when I can drive again, he will schedule for physical thearpy (sorry sp) - if they can't get the pain to go away, it might mean surgery - they all seem to think that cist pushed spine to far out of wack and I caused it to worsen by playing around w/DS.

Food has been awful because I couldn't get up to cook or go out to get something, so it was whatever could be delivered. I"m sure I"ve gained 10 pounds this week but was able to get up and about today so back to eating op and drinking water.

Take care! I know that I will be -am willing to do anything to avoid surgery - so am taking it easy - even sent DS away this weekend to my folks because he developed attitude about helping out - would rather not have him here right now...

Take care! Have read the weeks worth of notes, everyone is striving really hard to take care of themselves and glad to hear that all things broken in houses are on mend or replaced..!

Sunny Sunday and a new begining!

(((((Quilter)))))) What an awful experience I'm so sorry life is so hard for you and, please, do take care of yourself: if doctor recommends staying home a little longer, it's probably the best course of action for you

I've also been away most of the week: I've been reading, but not up to posting. I've had a lot of stress lately and a really busy week, both at work and at home. If you add to that troubles with our router and/or modem, it's meant tha getting on-line has been kind of a hardship.

Food's been simply awful: when I'm stressed, I still can't stay away from comfort food Exercise has been a little better: managed to get to Curves 2 or 3 times. I've also walked the dog several times. This all means that my weight is still where it's been since September: 4 lbs up from last Summer, but no more gain

We're on to a new week, new month and I plan on getting back on track. Hopefully, I'll be a few more lbs down in time for the hollidays

A great big to all my BEST s

Sunny Sunday and a new begining!

((((Quilter)))))) I am thinking about you and saying a prayer for you. You are so strong to be able to deal with all that pain. I have such a low tolerance for pain and would have given in add had surgery, hang in there but think about quality of life. I thought about that with my hyst, I didn't want surgery but I didn't have a quality of life, I was in pain all the time. I hope they can find something for you.

Hi Dany - sometimes no gain is almost as good as losing. I hope I will maintain while I am on vacation. That is the best I can hope for.

Well the party I went to was great. You would have thought you were on the island with the Gilligan's island castaways. We looked so great. I think if we would have gone out we would have won a prize. I did the best I could with food, I snacke on veggies and turkey sandwich wraps. I stayed away from all the desserts except a bowl of chips and dip made its way in front of me and I think I had a few too many. I also had to test the crab dip :yummy:

Ok I am wishing an OP week to all the BEST friends this week, may we stay OP and drop one or two on the scale.

Sunny Sunday and a new begining!

A quick hello before I dash out...tried to get on this morning, but the site said I wasn't who I said I was and then I forgot my password, etc.etc...
Doing fairly well on the food today...had a few too many pieces of candy yesterday, but now that's all gone.
Quilter, so sorry you're having such pain...hope the docs get to the source soon.
Dany, hang in there... at least your weight is stable...that's my goal over the holidays...to not gain and be able to maintain. If I lose, that's great, but not counting on major progress.
Shelly, sounds like you did pretty ok with the party food!! Good job!
Better get moving - ESL classes start in an hour.

Sunny Sunday and a new begining!

Quilter - my thoughts and prayers are with you. I live with chronic pain and have had 10 surgeries for various reasons to help reduce my pain.

Food & Exercise on Saturday:
Spent a couple of hours stacking wood that had been previously chopped.
Ate: leftovers for breakfast, cheese sandwich for lunch. Salad & yogurt for snacks, Vegetable soup with bread for dinner, 1 cup Edy's slow churned ice cream for dessert, and 2 small Nestle Crunch bars (the trick-or-treat size).

Sunday Food & Exercise:
Was in horrible pain from yesterday, or I may be coming down with something because all of my joints/bones hurt.
Ate: Weight Control Oatmeal with Applesauce, yogurt, cheese sandwich, bean/cheese dip with corn chips, apple w/peanut butter, 2 Nestle Crunch (extra small trick-or-treat size) bars.

Sunny Sunday and a new begining!

Hi Ladies,
This is my first post here. Today was a good day...I woke up and weighed in and am now under 190 lbs. OK so it was 189.5 but it was still under 190! Yahoo! That was my first mini goal that I set for myself and accomplished. I started out at 193 on Thursday when I decided once and for all that I needed to do something before my wieght went back up over 200. My prehyst weight was 204...afterwards I had gotten down to 186, and felt really good about that, but the weight started creeping back up. And I'm not going to let it! So here I am, planning to fess up whenever I'm naughty and toot my own horn when I'm being very, very, good. See you in the morning.
Brenda
