For those who have had a colonoscopy

Hi!

I am just starting my prep for my colonoscopy. How long before the stuff kicks in?

Thanks

For those who have had a colonoscopy

Depends on if you are doing GoLitely or the mag cit drink. Mag took quite a bit longer and wasn't quite as explosive with results. The GoLitely seemed to kick in after a couple of hours and then was non stop. Be sure to coat your hiney with vaseline or A&D ointment to help protect it from getting raw. You'll be glad you did! And you'll be so much more sympathetic to crying babies with diaper rash in the future. Best wishes ~

For those who have had a colonoscopy

Sounds like you will be up all night!! I had one a month ago--the prep is worse than the actual procedure. It was the best sleep I have had in many years--my doc gave me demerol and versaid. My doc had me drink the saline solution from Fleet at 7PM--got that over and out by midnight, I made my appt for 715 AM thinking I was being smart to get it over with--when they gave me my instructions I had to drink more of the stuff at 3AM before leaving to drive to the Endoscopy Center at 630. Everything went fine and doc said I have diverticulosis and IBS. My LAVH is set for 2 Nov--my gyn doc wanted to make sure about my colon problems before the surgery. Hope all goes well for you with the colonoscopy--I don't remember a thing!!

For those who have had a colonoscopy

Hi,
I had a colonoscopy earlier in the month and I did the miralax/gatorade mix. I was not up all night in the bathroom, although in the morning I was still emptying myself out.

good luck tomorrow, let us know how things go.
xoxo

For those who have had a colonoscopy

As I was on a liquid diet for two days prior to my colonoscopy, I had "watery" stools even before taking the phoso soda I had to drink! So yes, a consitency of water could very well be normal!

in there! s

For those who have had a colonoscopy

Well the colonoscopy was done this morning. It was a breeze (except for the prep). All they found was one small internal hemeroid (knew about this) and 2 small diverticuli. No sign of polyps!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now off the hook for another 5 years.

Thanks again for the info
