5 wks Post-Op & fully released!

Hey Ladies ~ I just had my final post op. It was to be at 6 weeks but our schedules didn't work out. At this appointment, I had my 2nd pelvic and external exam of incision scars. Doc said everything was perfect and asked if we'd had sex. Told him no. He said he was surprised since so many women cave in and try out their new anatomy. He did tell me that there is usually one suture/knot very high in the vagina that most men would never knew was there. It's expected to remain in place up to 4 months. He said I might notice it being passed but since I hadn't noticed passage of other sutures, it might end up dissolving and unnoticable.

I mentioned to my doc that today I've had left ovary cramping. He said that's actually a good sign since the ovaries appear to be in really good health. He said that given my blood work, path report and physical exam that he'd really expect my ovaries to continue working as many as 10 more years. He also told me that the cramping during ovulation might seem a little more intense now that my other aches and pains are gone -- sort of that I would notice them more since the other pains weren't on my mind.

So sisters, DH will be happy to hear the good report. I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking of trying it out. Not sure tonight will be the night but I'll keep you posted.

Best wishes to all you who aren't to this point on the journey... it sure has been worth it for me!

CONGRATS!

When I grow up I wanna be just like you! I have to wait until Nov 7 for my 6 week check up. Thats 8 days and counting!

You know, I'm kinda scared and yet excited at the same time about resuming sex for the first time. Do you have conflicting feelings like that too? Do you still have minor tenderness/aches/fatigue?

And by the way... the acne cream you suggested shrunk the zit dramatically. All went well, for the most part, at the Ball. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your good news and congratulations! I had an appointment last week, and am doing very well, but won't have my internal exam for another 3 weeks. Your report is inspiring. Thank you, also, for the comment about your ovaries. I, too, am more aware of my ovaries and every little, occasional ache I feel from them. What an interesting experience this has been. Best wishes.

Marilyn, glad my zit remedy was of help! We surely didn't need one of our princesses attending a ball while wearing a big honkin' zit!

And yes, dear ladies with whom I share a hysterversary now, life is getting so much better!!!

Glad to hear it went well!! My 6 wk isn't until Nov 16, but I'm nowhere near ready for sex Dh is prepared to go into the new year without sex I'm had some pain that made me curious about my ovaries...but I'm mostly concerned about my bladder and whatnot. Blah blah blah

Anyway, glad to hear yours went well and good luck ladies to your upcoming appointments!!

GordanK, I'm cleared for sex tomorrow. Not sure if I'm ready yet. I'm scared and excited at the same time. I told my DH we would have to take it slow and easy! He's so caring that I know that won't be a problem. In fact, I may have to talk him into to doing it at all at this point.....I think he's afraid he's going to hurt me (well, to be honest, I am TOO just a little bit). Good luck with your "first time" since surgery!! Wish me luck too.

Hi Gordonk,

Congrats on being released..yippie!

I wish you the best of luck that you continue to heal totally.

Good luck the first time you and DH have relations again. Do please let us know how it goes. I am nervous for that first time, but lately things have awakened for me and I'm looking forward to seeing if all works lol. Good luck there too. Have fun lol.

Talk later. Any job prospects looking promising?

Hey SA !!! Thanks for asking about the job search... my dream job is supposed to make someone an offer tomorrow... the lady is super great but seems to forget about calendars so I'm concerned her "Oct 31" won't be the same date as mine! I know it's down to 3 candidates so I'm hopeful. I turned down 2 offers and have another job I interviewed for that I would take only if necessary. So for now, it's that waiting game. Jeez -- it's every bit as bad as waiting for surgery! I guess maybe this has shown me that patience was a virtue I needed to work on!

Not sure about getting a chance to do the deed tonight with DH. My sister and her kids are on their way over for Halloween (too busy to come tomorrow). So that has dampened the mood. But I've got some tricks up my sleeve for tomorrow night!

Best wishes ~

Gordonk,

Congradulations! on the successful appointment. I've thought for a while now that the Hystersister forum should offer up a gift package that we could send to each other to celebrate. It could include, bubble bath, candles, Astro Glide, wine, and Princess Ruby chocolates!

Best Wishes on getting that highly coveted job offer tomorrow!
