Cancel for now

I hope this is the right choice for now. I was scheduled for hyst. in Nov. It seemed very overwhelming, so I went back to the Dr. and she thought maybe I should try Novasure first. I don't think I can even do that right now and this is why...

I have had years of unpredictable periods, which for the most part have been controled by BC pills. About a year ago they got very heavy with lots of clots, hard to leave the house. In July I went to the Dr. she put me on a different BC pill and did an ultrasound. I have multipule fibroids the largest 2.5 cm...so not that big but causing problems. Anyway, at that point Dr. said I had a few options hyst, novasure or wait and see. I jumped at the hyst. I really did not think the new pills would do anything. I was pretty tired of having all the bleeding every three weeks.

Well the result at this point is..I have a period every 12 weeks. It is still very bad but it is only every 12 weeks. I have cancled the hyst. After all of the failed novasure procedures I have read about, I think I will just wait. At least at this point...for now I know what to expect. The unknown outcome of the novasure makes me more nervous then the hyst.

So, my Dr. may think I am nuts but I am going wait and see. Keep an eye on the fibroids and if the pills stop working...breakthrough bleeding ect. then I will just do the hyst and be done.

I believe in trusting your instincts. If now is not right for you, then you SHOULD wait. You can still have the surgery later, if that's what you want. But once you've done it, there is no going back. Sometimes I wish I had waited, or tried other things. You'll know when or if the time is right.
