Continuing my dance with NED

Hi, ladies. I wanted to post some good news. Over the past few weeks, I have had a number of tests and a follow-up visit with my oncologist. Chest X-ray and cat scan were absolutely clear. My CA125 was 8!

I am going to have some genetic testing next week for the gene that causes colon cancer (HNCCP, I think) due to my family history of colon cancer as well as the connection with ovarian cancer. Those results won't be available for a month or so.

Finally, I have had some concern in the vaginal area (I had uterine cancer as well as ovca)... I guess I would call it a dry patch. I discussed this with my doctor and have appointment with her next week. She indicated that this is not usually what they expect to see with a recurrence of uterine cancer and told me not to worry so I'm not (worrying, that is). I'm sure it has more to do with vaginal stenosis due to no hormones and radiation treatment. Well, we'll see.

Love to all,

s Maureenie

Congratulations on the wonderful news I am so happy for you.

I also had the problem with a "dry spot". My gyn/onc watched it for awhile and ended up saying it was hormonal. I'm sure yours is caused by something as benign as mine was.

Time to : on such a good checkup. May your dance with NED continue on forever.

Super news, Maureenie, although I have to confess that I am not surprised to hear that you are still dancing with NED!

You have been an inspiration to me and you have given me so much hope in my journey.

I hope that dry patch is no big thing...which, of course, I'm expecting is just that....nada!
