Good Luck To all.

I went to the castle and concored. At least I hope I did.

I found that before my mind wandered in lots of different directions. I think it is the bodys natural way of self preservation.

Any how today makes 1 wk. Things are going well.

My advise to all is go get a dustpan with the long handle. Our dollar store sells them , what a great thing to have for everything that ends up on the floor.

No bending required. You can even change the handle to a full broom handle if your taller.

Good luck to all

Good Luck To all.

Congrats on what sounds like it is going to be a smooth recovery for ya! I am 3 1/2 weeks post-op and also doing well, getting to the "bored silly" stage. Feeling good and hopefully not over-doing. Take care, Kim

Good Luck To all.

Kim,
Couple of questions since you are my 2.5 wk surgery senior.

1. did you get a lot of menopause symptoms? If so when did they start?
2. Did you start any hormones therapy?

After they took out the staples I started getting a lot of pulling and small shooting pains in the abdominal area. I previously had nothing. Doesn't seem like it should be pulling more after there out. But I was basically scott free of any pain. Wouldn't know I had surgry except for the incison. Which he made vertical..

3. was your sleep altered at all. I don't sleep during the day even thou I lay down. At night I fall asleep but wake up with the bladder every 3 hrs. And by 4 am I am wide awake. Maybe the time change has something to due with that..Used to get up at 5:30 for work. Just seems like I should be sleeping more. My hubby says I look rested so don't worry. They gave me sleeping pills but I really don't want to take them.

Well best of luck to you.

May I ask why you had your surgery and why the BSO. Mine was precancer of the uterus. They wouldn't let me keep the Ovaries. Tubes or cervix

Good Luck To all.

Hi Maureen,

I'm 8 days post-op and have those same pulling sensations at my incision; especially each end. It keeps me from being able to lay on my side to sleep. Also having insomnia...online at 3:00am. Can't sleep during the day, only in spurts at night. I've heard this is common and will work itself out as we heal and can get more comfortable sleep. I had SAH, kept my ovaries, and have had some bladder spasm issues, soreness, and tiredness, but otherwise feel pretty good. Mostly bored! Take it easy and speedy recovery! Courtney

To Maureen

Hi sister! Sounds like our surgeries were similar! I also have a vertical incision,They removed my uterus that was the size of a 5 mo. pregnancy due to fibriods, and both ovaries due to the fact that the fallopian tubes on one side had twisted, enlarged, filled with fluid and wrapped around the ovary till it was not even visible. I think they took both cause they thought it would happen on the other side too. I was sent home from the hosp. with an estrogen patch, then started taking 1mg esradiol (estrogen)daily, so no menopause symptoms!! yayyy! I still nap everyday, have started to drive a bit (clutch) it wipes me out. I hope that you are doing well, post again. let me know how goes it!!

Good Luck To all.

Good Luck to all.

I guess I have to be more patient. They will not give me any hormones for a couple of weeks.
Lately having major headaches and not lightheadness but some strange feeling. Oh well hopefully it will all work itself out.

Best of luck

Good Luck To all.

Maureen, I will pray for the report for your pathology, and that you are healing well. The headaches sound like a bummer. Haven't had that. Where do you live? I am in Portland, Oregon and am 52 years old.

Good Luck To all.

HI Kim,

Thanks for the prayers. We are keeping fingers crossed here too.
I live outside of Buffalo NY.
I am 46 and this all came as such a surprise. I guess if I had more time research everything I would have a little more knowledge of what to expect.
I am so grateful for this website.
Best of luck to you to.
