Jeans, how soon?

Hi everybody. I know this is a dumb question, but how soon did you all wear jeans or anything with a zipper? I'm four weeks post-op and got so tired of wearing sweats that I put on a pair of jeans yesterday to go to the store. After 1/2 hour they felt like they were rubbing me raw. Any suggestions? DH told me to take one of my pads and put along my incision area to pad it. So I may have to try that next time I put them on. It's not like they're being used for anything else (lol). As for now it's back to my sweats 'til then. Just wanted your input on this. Thanks.

Jeans, how soon?

Hi again
I bought a pair of support panties and they are a life saver....I wear them when I go out or if I am going to be on my feet all day...kinda like wearing a bra verses going braless. Make sure the panties aren't too tight. I am 125 lbs. and got a medium size. I will be wearing my jeans today when I go for my drive...I couldn't wear them if I didn't have the panties....
good luck

Fondly

Jeans, how soon?

I was wearing my jeans at 3 weeks...with the pad as a cushion(couldn't have done it without that!) I started out just a couple of times a week...just to ween myself back into them I guess...I wear them most days now at 5 weeks with not much of a problem. Of course I change back into my comfy sweats when I get home..LOL!

Jeans, how soon?

Hi Sisters!
I started wearing jeans last week (about 3 weeks out) and discovered that the metal zipper followed almost exactly the line of my incision. It was fine while I was standing up, but when I sat -- yikes! So I put a folded up gauze pad between my panties and me and that improved matters a lot! I've worn my jeans two or three times, but mostly have been wearing elastic-waisted slacks. Of course, the flannel pj bottoms go back on as soon as I'm home again!

I hope all of you are well

(((hugs)))

Jeans, how soon?

Wore jeans at around the 3 weeks mark - The panty liner/pad as a protector against the incision is great! I also bought support undies, but I liked the biker short style. That kept the legs from riding up along my bikini incision. That worked great.

Good luck and do it in short periods (LOL periods we don't have those anymore)

Jeans, how soon?

done22, don't know why, but that LOL periods, we don't have those anymore just cracked me up. Yep, next time I put those jeans on I'm going to do the pad between me and my jeans just like DH suggested. All I know is it felt good fitting into my jeans again once the swelly belly went down. Made me feel as if I really was on the road to recovery. Thanks for all your responses. You guys are the greatest.

Jeans, how soon?

I have been wearing jeans since about 3 weeks but I am a very fluffy lady and my jeans are pull on with elastic waist. They are also stretch denim and the pair I have is one size too big. I bought them right before surgery. I get them at walmart for $18. They even have front pockets now. They may not be the most fashionable but are jeans none the less.
