spotting post op

I have not had any spotting since I came home from the hospital until last night. This morning it is still there. I also have a little stomach pressure that has not been there. I really have been taking it easy. I am not sure if I just over did something. Had to walk / run a short distance cuz a dog was chasing me. hoping I didn't do damage.

spotting post op

Hi. I had my hysterectomy on 10/26 and started having the same issue yesterday. I spotted just a little in the morning yesterday and a little today. I did, however, just read the post that hystersister sent me about weeks 3 and 4 and that durning that time the internal stitches could be healing and you may experience some minor spotting. I have been really good with no lifting or doing too much so I am thinking it is okay.

I've also had some itching and burning in the vaginal area which I'm hoping is just healing as it comes and goes.

My abdomen is way tight and feels like it is being drawn in (I look thinner but the pain sometimes feels intense).

My 4 week follow-up is Tuesday so unless something major happens like a raging fever or heavier spotting, I think I can hang in there until Tuesday.

Good luck with your issues.

Thanks, I guess I am just a little nervous because of the running. I really have been listening to the drs orders.

Hi Maureen
I agree here it isn't ususual to have some spotting on and off during recovery as the stitches heal. I experienced the same thing. The exertion getting away from the dog could have caused it too. Hopefully it will just be light and will clear up soon. Resting is a good idea in case it was from over doing.
I hope it's better soon and not a problem. It never hurts to call and ask the dr if it gets heavier, just to be sure.
