Back to the castle 3 yrs after Hyster...

I had a Hyster. in 04 everything removed but 1 ovary (left)...Im having a dull pain in lower left side of back...
Went to gyno today he sees no cyst and ovary looked healthy in Ultra Sound...BUT he said it could be attached to something or I could have endo...I have desided to take the ovary out Dr. seemed to think that was the thing to do also because of the pain he said it would sooner or later have to come out ...Im scared thinking about the after surgery dealing with hormones and things like that ...Has anyone ever gone through this if so I would love to hear from you

I have moved you over here to the "Ovaries Only" forum where there are other women who have also had to go back into surgery after their hyst to have one or both ovaries removed. I hope they will drop by with support and information for you!

We do have a "Hormone Jungle" that should be helpful to you after your surgery when you are dealing with HRT. Surgical menopause can be a "unique" experience and we have many ladies in the hormone forums who are willing to offere support!

hi Steph i had a ovary and tube out in 04 with a cycst on ovary thought they would of taken every thing out then, but no had to wait till september this year o6 before they did a complete Tah-rso and now im 8 weeks down the track and doing quite well.
One thing i was worried about was the hormone thing after but i think iv got it right now,dr did put me on premarin the 2nd week of surgery but then changed to a gel that you just put on your lower body or thigh no tablets there is a lot of imformation depends if you want to do

although you had a tah now the ovary i just had it in reverse lol
i found i was over the ovary operation better than i was the tah this has taken a lot longer to heel i was back at work at 8 weeks but i can only work 2 days at the moment

hi steph 3 days for the ovary and 5 days with the hyst but only because of with the hyst i wanted every thing moving like the bladder and bowels before i went home, this time they wanted me out in 3 but i said no once i can go on my own ill go home
And im over here in australia so the days you stay are longer.
Iknow your opp for the hyst was 2005 but how long did it take you before you were up and no pain, im only eight weeks but thought id be up and running around by now.

I was doing pretty good by 8 weeks just felt real droggy but look what our bodys have been through you should be feeling a little better eash day my biggest prob at 8 weeks was nooooo energy but it gets better dont over do it give your body the time it needs to heal
