mini periods and back pain

Hi Ladies-

I posted a while ago. I guess i'm one of the 7% who have a LSH and have mini periods. I've gone to see my doc. twice for a procedure where she burns off some of the cells at the top of the cervix. It's that time of the month again and I'm spotting red with alternating brown. I have pretty intense back pain and feel aching in my cervix area.

I guess i'm just feeling really down and kinda depressed. I had hoped having my uterus out would make me feel great and it did for a little while.

I've developed stress urinary incontinence. My doc. said it's not from the LSH, it's from having two vaginal births (daughter is 12 months old). I can't laugh, cough or jump up and down with joy or i wet my pants. Literally, i was cheering at a football game and wet through my pants.

I just feel like my bubble has been burst. I've been in pain for so many years I hoped to have some relief. I do have relief from the anemia and heavy bleeding but now i can't even get excited without peeing my pants and I still have to deal with a mini period.

My doc. said I may have to have the procedure to burn the cells off again but honestly, i don't think it's helping. In fact, the spotting seems to be more red this time than last time. Plus, while the procedure was quick and in the office, i was in a lot of pain for days afterwards.

Oh, and to make matters worse, i've had a horrible cold for 4 weeks and every time i cough i have to either cross my legs really really hard or pee my pants.

I also picked a fight with my hubby b/c the kitchen floor was a mess when i came home from work. I just feel like i'm losing it.

Anyone else have similar problems?

mini periods and back pain

Tera-
I'm so sorry about your mini-periods. Have you talked to your doctor about the fact that the spotting is more red than it was? I have a monthly "smudge" but nothing more. I too have stress incontinence, but I had it before my hyster. I've gotten used to always wearing a pantiliner and changing it frequently. I know that someday I will have to have bladder repair, but for right now I can live with it with just a pantiliner. But I don't have the back pain from my mini-period like you do. I'm sorry you're feeling that way. That is discouraging, I'm sure. I just know that even though things aren't perfect for me now, they are a lot better than they used to be before my surgery! Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
Julie
