Sick of this

hi there
I think it's because instead of using your stomach muscles, you are using your back muscles. I have had alot of lower back pain since my surgery. I was told by a dr a long time ago to strengthen my lower abs, to support that lower back.

I use an ice pack (actually a frozen hand towel in a ziploc)
and put in on my lower back for about 15 minutes. It always helps me. (reduces internal swelling/causing pain)

Good Luck...back pain is the worst (or right up there with a toothache!)

Try the ThermaCare wraps on your lower back. I've taken up belly dancing and bought a "Basic Moves for Beginners" type DVD. I haven't made it much past the warmups, but hey, it's worth a few laughs. Soon as I started, my lower back pain went away.

I also had back pain after my surgery. I finally went to the chiropractor (tell him/her about your surgery so they can tailor treatment) and it helped tremendously! Only had to have 2 adjustments and I was was back (no pun intended) to normal!

I don't know if you had your cervix removed or not.
If so, they cut the Utero Sacral Ligaments that attach from the spine to the cervix to help support the uterus. It could be these healing.
Have you ever had a pulled ligament? If so, you understand how much it hurts and how long it takes to heal.
This ligament wasn't pulled. It was cut. It takes time to heal. You are only two weeks out. If you only knew how much went on inside of your body. You're Oh so early out. Be kind and patient with yourself. Give yoruself the time to heal that you deserve.
Be creative with your four year old. Lay on an air mattress on the floor and watch movies. Colour in bed. Order in. Have her set up a tea party with you while you rest. Make a little nurse hat for her and let her play nurse for you bringing you water and such.
There are many things you can do but the most important one right now is to try and rest. You will be down a lot longer if you hurt yourself. Remember - only ONE chance to heal right. You dont want complications.
