Question - Have overies, natural menopause Have overies, natural menopause

I had a hysterectomy in 2003 and kept my overies. I am now going through natural menopause. I get night sweats bad my eyes are watering all the time, well one of them anyway. I go through dry spells during intercourse. My overies only bother me once a month and I still have period symptoms. I bloat once a month, I have my usual mood swings once a month and of course my chocolate cravings. I do however spot blood once a month but not sure it's my bladder or where the Dr tore my lining pulling out the drainage.(Someone left the T on the line). I went to the Dr had test and they just say everything looks great so its not serious. It only last about a day and is very light anyway. I do however have to pee now every 2 hours or more. My bladder is not low enough to be the problem. What I think the problem is my weight gain. I hate that! I am trying to lose weight but I had to care for my ill daughter for almost 2 yrs. I sat with her the last yr. She passed away in Dec of last yr. But her daughter at age 3 lives with me and she gives me joy. I was wondering what natural hormones can I take? My family has a history of cancer and the hormones are not good for me. Is there any natural kind that is safe to take? Please let me know. Thank you

Have overies, natural menopause

((((Carletta))))) I'm sorry you've been through such a rough time in the past few years

I had my hyst in December 2000, so almost 6 years ago and kept my ovaries. I turned 50 in September and am going through a lot of the same things you're going through, though only go through PMS about every 2 months or so.

I also have the spottings and was also told that it's nothing serious and that they can't figure out where it's coming from. While, some days, I'm not sure if it's coming from the vagina or urethra, some days it's very clear it's vaginal spotting. The one thing I know is that I consistently show as having a little blood in my urine: doctors think it's a gall stone that's doing a really going job of hiding.

I know that there are some products that are effective at managing menopause symptoms naturally. However, I would suggest working with your doctor on this, as not all of them are safe for everyone.

In my case, the insomnia is the worst symptoms and I'm now taking Trazodone, an anti-depressant often used for this purpose, and it's effective in granting me the much needed night's rest. One bonus is that it also seems to be effective in managing the night sweats and hot flashes... as well as the mood swings.

I hope you find relief very soon.

Red face - Have overies, natural menopause Thank you Dany

Thank you I will ask my doctor about the antidepressants. My Dr has been wanting to put me on something in that area but I was just not comfortable in taking that type of medicine, but I am so ready for something. My sister is having her hyterectomy on Dec 11 she is so nervous. I did give her this web site to ask all the questions she needs to ask. She is having the same as I had vaginal and keeping her overies. It's sad but we have to keep ours bbecause of cancer in our family is high. We both get mamograms and paps still every year. We just lost our sister at age 45 with severe diabeties. She had it since she was 11 though. But we all just make sure we try to take care of ourselves. I need to work harder in that department now that I am raising a 3 yr old. Wow does she have the energy I use to have LOL I wanted to ask you if you tried the pillow tht were advertising for night sweats also? I think it was called something like cammoli or something like that?? Well Dany hope all is well and you have a great holiday season. Thanks again.

Have overies, natural menopause

No I haven't tried the pillows for night sweats, as they are now under control thanks to the Trazodone. I may go that route one of these days

Good luck to your sister with her surgery... and to you with looking after a 3 yo: they really are fully energy
