under 6 weekers - WARNING!!!!

Ok, this warning goes out to all you wonderful sisters that are a few weeks behind me.
Many (but not all) start to feel a bit more energy and a bit better around the four to five week mark. They start to lift more than they are suppose to, carry more than they are suppose to, bend, clean, and just all around are less careful with their healing.

BE WARNED
CHRITMAS SHOPPING CAN DO YOU IN!!!!

I know it is only 18 days till Christmas and you most likely have so much to do BUT don't over do it!!! It will be so easy to carry too much, or shop too long or slip on the ice (if you live where it is cold). And believe it or not, reaching to wrap the presents really does hurt if you do too many or carry too many.......first hand knowledge there!

So please, remember you ARE still healing even if you are starting to feel better. Don't over do it and put yourself backwards for Christmas.... Take it easy. Take it slow, and remember what limitations you are suppose to be healing within.

....and now I am done my preaching like an ol momma bear

under 6 weekers - WARNING!!!!

Thanks for the warning. Friends offer to take me Christmas shopping, but I tell them that it is the year of the gift card. On top of that, I am trying to rest as much as I can before my road trip next week.

For some silly reason I felt that since I was in fairly good shape before surgery that recovery would be swift. I am not having any pain issues, but I do tire very quickly and easily and become uncomfortable. It is true that we all heal at different rates. Even though I am going stir crazy, I am trying to follow Dr's orders to the "T" and be a good princess.

Hey, how did you post on the post op boards if you have not had your hyst yet? When I joined, we could only read the post op boards and not post till after surgery ...
No matter - glad you got to post!
and...... WELCOME to the boards.
Sorry to hear you have to have a hysterectomy but happy to tell you that you have found the best support group one could ever ask for. The trick to getting all you can out of it, is to post often.
It is very nice to meet you!

Cindy, I can't agree with you more....it's good to let those sisters behind us know this. It's so easy to over do cause you feel good, and then you suffer for it.

She is right girls....take it easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day all, and may God bless you with healing, peace and love.

under 6 weekers - WARNING!!!!

My sisters and I had a cookie bake (our 1st Annual!!) and I stood in the kitchen all day (like 8 hours) Sunday baking cookies. I was soooo achy that night and into Monday. I felt like I was having period cramps! So, remember, that something as innocent as standing could give you grief!
