Tummy pain at 2 weeks post op

What is going on with me? I felt better last week than I do this week. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow that I had my TAH. I was up all day Sunday because of my son and my sisters birthday at my mother's but I took it easy, I just wasn't in bed resting. On Monday I felt pretty good and did some LIGHT house cleaning. Yesterday and today I have felt awful. I have the swelly belly pouch above my incision and it really hurts. I havn't slept in 4 nights due to insomnia and night sweats. My doctor started me on Premarin yesterday and told me to just keep taking the Advil. How am I supposed to feel after 2 weeks, am I normal or a big baby?

You sure aren't a big baby mak, what you're feeling is normal. All I was doing at 2 weeks is walking and resting. I'm tellin' ya...this is major stuff and we gotta take it easy....not easy for alot of us either! All the best to you, sister!

I'm afraid you're doing too much! I was told not to do anything more strenuous than lift a mug of tea for 6 weeks. It is major surgery. Heart surgery patients are up and around, and recovered, well before hysterectomy patients.

You must stop the housework, however light! These initial weeks of healing are absolutely vital. You don't get them over again and you could undo any internal healing that has already taken place.

Patience is the key and absolute rest.

I have to agree --- too much for 2weeks after a TAH.
I'm exactly where you're at and am forcing myself to rest in the afternoon - not always sleep - but lay down and let everything just "settle down" so that I'm at least human for when the kids and hubby get home.
NO housecleaning.

I too am exactly where you are. Am having a lot of pain when I exert myself. Therefore, I spend a lot of time in bed. Just don't have the energy to do much more especially housekeeping. Let those dustbunnies grow.

I'm right there with you too. I am 15 days out from a TVH RSO with A&P repair. Today hit me like a ton of bricks. I went to my DS' Christmas program at preschool and by the time I got home from that and picking up a wreath at the Farmer's Market, I had to go to bed. I have to take the kids to swimming tonight as DH is out of town, and I seriously feel like crap. The house is a mess, but oh well. I am in bed until I have to leave. I would skip it but having the kids swim will calm them down and they should go to bed nicely for me tonight. I think with your TAH, you need to really take it easy as much as you can. I say that because, as nice as it might be to be "pampered", some of us just don't have that option, so do the best we can. Let the little stuff go and get some rest. Hope you feel better tomorrow.
