Question - UTI's before Hyst UTI's before Hyst

I have been in incredible pain for years due to constant UTI'S, I went to 3 different doctors in California before I moved to Nevada and then saw 3 more doctors. None of them did any tests they all gave me Cipro. Finally in Jan of 06. I had insurance and I am back in California. This Doc set me up for tests and sent me to OBGYN, subsequently I had my Hyst and everything went well. Healing for the 2 weeks after was so good my OBGYN released me till a 1 year after. All I was doing was lying down and walking periodically.
Since then I have continually had UTI's and complained to my primary Doc. And now that it has been 5 1/2 months my Doc said after a pap and urine culture that he thinks that maybe there is bladder damage-prolapse or something. I was relieved this was being taken seriously. He set up a Ultrasound to check my bladder and area where I had surgery. I am also set up to have a consult on the 21ST with a Urologist. I am currently feeling really good compared to the past 4 months. The last 2 tests I took provided my Doc with info that I had a strep bacteria.I had never been diagnosed with a strep bacteria in my lower region. I took all the penicillan and am still taking the macrobid for the frequent UTI's. I am really hoping that, that was all it was, but I can't seem to get all my energy to a normal state so I can try to go to work or even school. Maybe because I was sick for so long, it is going to take time to gain strength? But there is still a possiblility I have damage in the bladder area.
If anyone has any related stories and any tips. I have had: Pelvic pressure, pulling or pressure in the groin area, low backache, painful intercourse, spotting from vagina and rectum, and I am up on a good night every 2 hours. A bad night is every hour. During the day it is dependent on how much fluids I intake. I have difficulty with support on my back when bowel movements or posterior area of the vaginal wall.
I can't sit or stand for long periods of time. But I can walk longer, but just need to rest.

UTI's before Hyst

Tiger3, S....it's hard to have such pain and I'm sorry you've had to deal with it for so long. Your symptoms could be signs of urinary incontinence, infection, and/or prolapse. You could have any or a combination of all 3. It's a good thing you are going to a doctor now to get it looked at and taken care of. If a course or two of antibiotics doesn't take care of it, often doctors will prescribe a urinary urge medicine to see if that helps with the constant need to get up and go esp. at night. Then, often the next step is urodynamic testing. Ask your urologist, gynecologist, or urogynecologist about it if you want to know more. I do hope you are feeling better ASAP.

May this week be much better than the last weeks and months have been....
