exercise question

How long after my surgery should I wait to exercise to get back to "the old me"?? I have a very rigorous Army PT program that I do (I have for 15 years until my pain started several months ago) and I just don't want something to go wrong afterwards. I do know to take it easy in the beginning, but I was wondering about how long it would be before I could get back into the full swing of what used to be my normal routine.

After your surgery, your doctor will give you post-op instructions and you shouldn't and probably won't be able to resume your full PT program until he/she releases you to do so. I was released to ease back into exercise at my 6 week post-op appointment.
