I didn't lose my ovaries either and I have problems sleeping as well. I think it has to do with having the surgery, not so much with just hormones.

I too am having trouble sleeping. I make myself stay up until say 11. Then no matter how I lay I hurt.and if/when I get to sleep I wake up 3 or so hours later and am wide awake.
Add constipation, a rectum that will not relax enough and the fact that i have stopped taking prescription pain meds as they can cause constipation & you pretty much have my life. No one told me of this part--

Insomnia...

I have started taking Tylenol pm. The only problem is I need to take it about 8. Then I head to bed at 9 and read until 10. If I take it any later than 8, I cant get out of bed in the morning. Even if I am awake, I am so groggy that I just dont want to move.

But I am now having problems with my legs--twitching. I am sure it has to do with the surgery; however, it is driving me nutz. I find myself getting up to walk around and try to stretch.

And I can not seem to decide if I am hot or cold!

I have trouble sleeping at times too but lately it has gotten better, now that I can sleep on my side more. I think it just takes time. As for the constipation you can try Metamucil capsules. They work wonderful and the nurse even told me wal mart carries a generic brand that works just as well. Good luck with it. Drgldy, I see you are from Chippewa Falls, I grew up in Rice Lake, transplanted to Wy, via Ca for 20 years. Hope everyone is healing well. Yvonne

I am hoping when I heal a bit more (on the outside anyway) I will be able to sleep better.
I cannot really sleep so well on my back, you see.--But last night when i finally got to sleep it was due to having a wedge of pillows behind my back/head and 2 pillows under my knees---kinda like a homemade hospital bed----

Insomnia...

No doubt Happier123,
I am still having troubles falling asleep. Agian, went to bed at 9:30 and fell asleep around 2:00. woke up at 10:00 and thats late when you have two kids at home who wake up around 8:00. I don't know what to do. I toss and turn and the worst thing is I am tired but just can't fall asleep.

Have you talked with your doctor about not being able to sleep? They can maybe give you something mild for awhile to help you get some sleep.
