New uses for super-glue?

Hey all! I have my incisions glued. I have only one stitch in all of the incisions and it's in my belly button. The rest of them have the super glue stuff on them and it's starting to peel (and okay, I'll admit it.. I''m picking at the little scrappy edges...) The at the hospital said they will fall off after about 5 days and for some reason, I'm worried the wound will split open.
I thought about putting bandaids over them so that I can't pick or even look at them, but then I'm worried that when I take the bandaid off, it'll take the glue w/ it!
Any thoughts/advice?
Maybe I should reglue them and work on some scrapbooking at the same time? (just kidding!)

Other than that, I'm doing great. I had my 1st bm and that wasn't a problem. My only issue is still having a I'm in so much less pain than I was pre-surgery and emotionally I'm feeling so content and happy with everything. (I know I've said it before, but I couldn't have done it w/o my "sisters"!)

New uses for super-glue?

Hey Xia,

You could put Dermabond or New Skin on top of that it's basically the same things as Superglue just not as "thick". My steristrips came off on one side already so I cover my area with a Curad scar reducing bandage. It's a thick clear bandage that's water proof. THe only thing I'm not sure about is how to take it off! YIKES!

My DH said it would probably wear off at the edges like the strips.

Best wishes! So glad to hear you are doing well.

The glue didn't come off my skin very easily, so I'm sure yours won't just come off Xia - it's not called super for nothing! LOL

Glad to hear you're doing well

If you're worried about the stuff sticking, try either taping some non-stick gauze pads or non-stick band-aids to it. My steri-strips started coming off last night, and she said this past Thursdayto wait 2 more weeks. DH said the incision didn't look like it was splitting open; but I think I'm going to head to the drugstore this morning just to be safe. I don't want to strain it somehow and risk it splitting open during the holidays.

Just be safe Xia. I was like you and felt so much better after my surgery. Don't overdo within the first few days like I did. You definitely don't want to be paying for it like I am.

Good Luck, Happy healing, and Many Prayers,
Char
