Tylenol vs Motrin

Hello Ladies, I had a Radical hyst 5 weeks ago and still feeling some minor pain. I have been taking Tylonal every 4 hours and noticed it is upsetting my stomach. I started the Motrin every 6 hours hoping that this will help my pain with no stomach upset until I no longer need anything. I would like to know what type of over the counter pain releiver some of you are taking. Thank you in advance for you input.

Tylenol versus Motrin (ibuprofen)

I'm taking ibuprofen (Motrin). It's what my doctor advised. It's also the one that has antiinflammatory properties so it helps with swellling, which Tylenol doesn't. My instructions are to take it with food, so as not to upset the stomach. Tylenol is usually easier on the stomach.

With Motrin/ibuprofen, by the way, it's REALLY important not to overdose -- serious liver risk at relatively low levels of overdosing, though safe within the guidelines.

Tylenol vs Motrin

I'm on both ibuprofen and tylenol 3 with codeine (not OTC). I take the ibuprofen on a set schedule to control swelling and reduce pain and then t3 is as needed.

Tylenol vs Motrin

I'm taking Advil a couple times a day. My pain med (Percocet) already has Tylenol in it.
