Which vitamins are the best?
I take Century which is the local = of Centrum. Costs a lot less, and the HMO kicks in a bit. In addition, I take a 500 mg vitamin C (two if I feel myself coming down with a cold or if I have a cold) + 2 x 600 calcium with vitamin D.
I might switch to the SILVER multivitamin, I think it has more of the B complex, which becomes more necessary with age. Don't need the extra iron of the "Women's" vitamin anymore, and even pre-hys, I always had 13+ hemoglobin

Which vitamins are the best?
That is a good question, there are so many. I asked the doctor which vitamins I should take and he said to take a multi vitamin. I asked if there was any particular one, or if he could suggest one kind, and he couldnt. So...I went to Wal-Mart and looked all the vitamins, so overwhelming. And I found a multi-vitamin Mineral and herb called OneSource Women's with Ester-C, has 500 mg Calicum in it. Had 27mg Iron, which I need. Has Cranberry in it, I had a kidney infection so thought that couldn't hurt and EGCG Green Tea Extract (not sure what that does) Looked like a pretty good multi-vitamin. Plus all the other stuff Not sure, does anyone else know?

Which vitamins are the best?
I am currently using One A Day for Women, but now that I have been told I have Fibro and Osteoarthritis, I am trying to get all artificial colors, and additives out of my diet as it can cause problems with the Fibro. The One A Day has FD&C Yellow # 5 in it, which can be allergic, so I am going to go to Vitamin World and get my multi, as theirs has no artificial colors or additives. I also take calcium and vitamin D, as my last round of blood work showed me deficient in D.

Which vitamins are the best?
I take the same vitamin as friendangel found at walmart. I also take 1000mg of time release Vitamin C also found at walmart. I'll take extra if I feel a cold coming on or if I've been around someone who is sick or if I've been shopping. (lots of nasty germs on the shopping cart handles, and public restrooms, yech!) I also take 1000 mg of calcium and vit D in a softgel form but my doctor advised me that chewables are better and it's best to take 2 doses of 500 mgs per day. It absorbs better. So next time I'm getting those chocolate kind. A woman can never get too much chocolate

How do you like the One Source, and how long have you been taking it? I was just thinking today that I needed to be taking more Calcium and Vitamin C. I have both of those on hand.
For quite awhile I was taking 3 times a day 325mg of Iron with a Vitamin C. The vitamin C was to help absorb the Iron. But I am not having to take that much now. Whew am I glad of that. But I am still taking 1 times a day 325 mg of Iron plus the One Source. I am suppose to keep taking the Iron for several more months. I am still anemic. It takes awhile to get back to normal.
I have been sitting my vitimans right in front of my computer so that I remember to take them every morning. Pretty soon, I will have a whole pharmacy sitting there

Which vitamins are the best?
I prefer to keep all my vitamins separate. This way I get the exact amounts that I need. Here's what I take:
Calcium Citrate
Magnesium (helps the calcium absorb)
B-6
B-12
B-Multi
Milk Thistle
Evening Primrose Oil
Fish Oil
Here's what I do so I don't forget to take my vitamins. I bought a 7 day pill container, mine has 4 slots for each day. Every two weeks I line up all my vitamin bottles and fill the slots with my daily doses. When I get up in the morning I open the am slot for that day and grab a glass of water. Than when I get home in the evening, I open the evening slot and I am done! It sure makes it easier than having to line up all my bottles each day.

Which vitamins are the best?
friendangel, I like the One Source. The only thing I don't like is the bright yellow urine output that I get from it. It's from the B vitamins I'm told so I know there's nothing wrong with the yellow color...but still...looks awful I think. I really think mega doses of Vitamin C helps alot to keep virus's at bay. Any extra Vit C just goes out the body through your urine so you can't overdose on it. That's the reason I take the time release formula. I haven't had so much of a sniffle this season yet and I've been exposed to lots of colds and flus with my day care kids. (Hear me knocking on wood?) My doctor advised me to get 1200-1500mg of calcium a day for my age (46) and that chewables, along with dividing it into 2 doses will make the calcium absorb better. And also make sure that it contains Vit D. I'm pretty happy with my regimine. Have a good day ladies.

My B Multi is a yellow caplet and my urine turned yellow a few days after I started taking it. I panicked of course and asked my doc who said that it was totally normal. My urine has been bright yellow ever since; that was 7 years ago.
Sisterangel, the pill container is a great timesaver. I think it's one of the reasons I have rarely missed a day taking my vitamins all these years. I have my dh to thank for it. He was working at a hospital and they were clearing out some items. One of them was the pill container and he thought of me and thought I could use it.
