Still Sore and Tired at 5 weeks

Seems I get up and start doing things and take 2 steps forward and 1 back and have to lie down cause my tummy really hurts, right around the incision. It is 5 weeks today. Is this normal? Anyone else experiencing this? Just the participation in all the family holiday activity wiped me out! Happy New Year to all!

Still Sore and Tired at 5 weeks

It's very normal to be sore and tired at only 5 weeks out. The holidays take extra energy instead of just healing and hanging low!!
You may feel a little pulling or tugging at your incision site if you've walked too much or stretched more than you're used to!! Just kick up your feet, enjoy some good food, and smile while everyone else washes the dishes and cleans the kitchen...not too many chances to "not" be able to clean.

Hope you and your family had a very, very Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year to come!!

Hmmm I'm just 2 days behind you and although I do feel some different twinges and some pulling at the incision occasionally, I really don't have pain per se. AND - I still have a hole at my incision from infection that I acquired around Day 7
I would suggest a call to your dr. Tuesday just to be sure that this is normal healing for you.

Still Sore and Tired at 5 weeks

I still had pain at 5 weeks. And now at over 6 weeks, I still get twinges of pain that feel like a burning/pulling. From what I have read here, those pains are healing pains. But if your pain is unbearable, or doesn't seem normal, then you should definitely get that checked out.

I have just passed 2 stitches, and that indicates that the healing is still taking place. There is a reason they say 4-6 weeks or even 8 weeks for recovery. Take care

Still Sore and Tired at 5 weeks

I felt like a train wreck at 5 weeks and DR made me feel much better by saying that really is not all that long for what they do inside. I still have very little energy and caught a bad virus that really has hung on. I go back to work 4 days a week tomorrow and it should be very interesting. I am always saying I am tired and my DH is trying to figure out what from! Just the everyday stuff takes more out of you. I had some bleeding at 12 weeks so things really take some time to heal. Get lots of rest, walk, and drink lots of water! We all expect so much from ourselves so go easy and heal right!

Don't feel bad - I had my SAH on the same day as you and I have been experiencing the same thing. While I generally feel much better than I did several weeks ago, I am still experiencing some twinges, particularly when I do a bit too much. My OB said that this is to be expected.

Remember to enjoy being able to rest so that your body will heal.

Happy New Year!
