Emotional Breakdown

Well I just had what I hope to be my last emotional breakdown before this surgery. I didn't really know I was getting upset.... one minute I was fine and then I was so nervous and I couldn't eat. I snapped at my DH, who then said something not nice, so then I cried and cried and cried. Then when I thought I was better my daughter was asking for something and my son was complaining about putting laundry away and I just cried and cried again. Ugh... I think I need to take my lorazepam and be knocked out till this is over.

Emotional Breakdown

Nope, you're normal. Perfectly normal. I was white-faced and darn near catatonic by the time they hustled me back to the surgical prep, and that was after pulling a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for about a week with Valium and Lortabs in my system. LOL!! Can you say stoned maniac? LOL!!

Emotional Breakdown

Yep, your normal honey!! I was all over the place before mine. It does get everyone ready for post, just kidding. You'll do great. It's very good that you recognize that it's your emotions and are talking about it. I urge you to speak openly and honestly with your partner or a close friend. Just voicing the words will help you. It will be ok, really.
Remember you are loved!!

Emotional Breakdown

Ditto..........

The week before my surgery, I had to start taking Xanax after work because my blood pressure was going up. I normally run a low blood pressure.

My surgery was on a Monday, my major meltdown came on the Friday night before. I had rented a recliner chair, gone and picked it out, paid a deposit,ect.-weeks before my surgery. They delivered late on Friday night-were happy they had brought me a new one-but it had no arms on it! To say the least , I told them to get it out of my living room (those were not my exact words, but I'll keep it G rated)-when they left I cried and cried. The next day when I called, they had no more, because they had all been rented out to Katrina transfers to SC. Fortunatly, I went out on Saturday am and found another company that had 3 in stock and cried all through my errands that day.

Believe me....what you are going through is totally normal. This is a very emotional surgery-it was a whole lot harder on me emotionally than physically. None of it was nearly as bad as I imagined it would be.

You will do just fine.

I send a
