Muscle pain

Has anyone else had a problem with muscle pain after their surgery? It is helped somewhat by the Climara patch but not totally. I have tried a number of different things, Premarin, Enjuvia, vivelle and a number of natural supplements. My doctor just keeps throwing different meds at me and doesn't seem to listen. I just want to figure out if this pain is hormone related or something else (like fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue).

Muscle pain

I'm getting ready to go to my regular doctor because I'm having tons of pains I didn't used to have. I'm not sure if it's muscular or what. Mine is in my elbows, shoulders, fingers, toes. So the shoulder part seems muscular but some of the other areas seem to be my joints. So....I've no clue either as to the cause. I already have a chronic pain issue due to a herniated disc in my neck, didn't really need a bunch of other pain.

Muscle pain

Hi
I am one year post op TAH and I have been having muscle and joint pains on and off since about 6 months post op. I never had problems before surgery. I think it may be menopause symptoms as I have had the odd hot flush and some night sweats too. I am getting my hormone levels checked to see if this is the case.
I hope you feel better soon

Muscle pain

It has been 5yrs since my hyst, and did take a long time
to get my balance, but finally have great improvement.
I had joint pain, muscle aches, and muscle weakness,
pretty severe, but I added progesterone compound and
testosterone compound to low dose estrogen patch (.05)
and that has completely wiped out these problems. I use to hurt so bad in the morning I could hardly walk, and was very stiff. I also had a lot of swelling on the
estrogen, alone, but it was the combination that did
the trick, and dramatically improved the sex thing.
A lot of doctors still don't believe in the progesterone,
but that in combo with the others made a huge difference. It takes time to figure it out, but it is worth it.

My doctor said that mixing the estrogen and progest. raised the risk for heart problems and breast cancer. I have some heart related problems already and the cancer thing really scares me. I am just really confused.

All I can say is there is a big controversey over this, and
many different opinions about it. Everybody has to make the decision about this for themselves, I personally feel good about what I am doing, and it is
for sure, confusing. Do some research, some doctors
are very closed minded about the whole thing.

Muscle pain

Hi Slt, I will be 56 yrs. old this april, and I am still having a hard time finding balance, just as soon as I think I have then here we go again. I am interested in the amount of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone you take and what kinds, I believe you are on to something we do need to replace everything that was taken. I had a hyst. in 1991 so I am not in surgical I'm in full blown and hoping someday it will all be over. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Slt, I'm curious if those are over the counter or did you work this combo out with your doctor? I see there are creams for Progesterone, etc. in the store, but how do you know if these are right and how much/often to use them? I'm not on HRT yet, dr. wanted to "wait and see" before going that direction.

I agree, this is all too confusing!

I had a difficult time with the compounded estrogen, just continued to have hot flashes, but felt like the progesterone does help and definitely need the testosterone. But, this is what I am using
a generic estriadiol patch .5 then a compounded progesterone.45 and 1 mm of 1% testosterone. No more hot flashes. The pharamcist insisted it was the progesterone that was causing the hot flashes, and the salivia test showed that I had high elevations of estrogen
but the blood tests said the opposite, I am going with the blood tests, they match the symptoms, and as soon as I started on the patch haven't had one hot flash. Don't know why the bi-est didn't work for me but I gave it a year. This seems to be working better than anything so far, but am considering the pellets, another controversy, but I am still having the vaginal dryness, which nothing has helped that much.

Hi, Did you ever find a solution to your body aches. I had a full hysterectomy on May 7th and I am having very BAD body aches (like the flu). My estrogen levels are very low and my doctor thinks that is why. We are in the process of trying to raise my estrogen levels. Did you ever find a solution?
