went to head and neck board

I went to the head and neck conference this morning. They asked me a few questions and then three doctors palpated my neck and jaw. Then they asked me to step out while they discussed my case.

The outcome was that they agreed it is probably a benign parotid tumor. Thank goodness! No one had heard of endometrial cancer metasticizing to the parotid (salivary) gland, but given my unusual history, they agreed I should have a biopsy.

The biopsy will be at 8am tomorrow, and I should have the results by Thursday (another thank goodness!)

I'm starting to feel like the end is in sight -- now to figure out how to get back to "normal."

Genie,
You are a dear to think of us and let us know what is going on! On a panic scale of 1-10; we can now assign you a "2". It sounds like the outcome will be good but the process a drag.

Good luck and a big cyber

Genie,
I bet that was good to hear so many experts feel it is benign, so one sigh of relief there. Now for the biopsy and results, more good news on the I would say.

Sounds better and better....One more tiresome little procedure for you to get through tomorrow, but with a little luck that's the end of all this mess and you can take a very well-deserved break.

Good luck in the morning!

I am so happy that they think it is benign, sorry you have to go through the biopsy but at least you won't have to wait to long for the results. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

I have a friend at work whose daughter just had a parotid tumor removed right before Christmas. Of course she does not have the cancer history you do - but she recovered from the surgery pretty quickly and without too much discomfort. Wishing you luck and prayers as you face yet another hurdle!!

I'm happy to know that you may be able to put all this behind you very soon and get back to your "normal" life. You have been through way too much!
Sending out healing thoughts your way, Trisha
