emotional rollercoaster

I am such an emotional wreck; my surgery is sceduled at 7:30 the morning of January 30! I have found myself crying at a wim just about every day! My husband is getting to the point where he is afraid to talk to me in kind of setting me off crying! Please tell me this is normal and that I am not going crazy?

I was the same way--very emotional and butterflies crashing around in my stomach for weeks before the surgery. For some reason, the morning of the surgery, I just went numb. I wasn't scared or upset or shaking anymore.

The surgery went fine, my recovery is going fine, and yours will, too. Waiting is really, really hard, so try to distract yourself as much as possible. Keep busy getting your home ready or go out for a long walk or do whatever takes your mind off of it for a little while. Before you know it, the surgery will be over and you will be on your way to feeling much, much better.

What you are feeling is perfectly normal and to be expected. You just need to tough out these last weeks and then you'll be fine.

We're all here for you to support you and answer any questions you might have.

s you are perfectly normal. It is a scary time right before the surgery............fear of the unknown. Just take it one day at a time...........breathe deeply and just know that it will all be ok.

I think your feelings are completely normal too, and I'm sure that as soon as I have an actual surgery date, I'll be the same way. I'm already feeling a little of that and I find the best way to ease it all is to exercise. If you do any kind of cardio, then this is a good time to up it a bit and get some of that fear and stress out. I've set a goal to do 100 tummy crunches a day, so when I start freaking out, I get down on the floor and do those until I can't do anymore. I guess it gives me a sense of control over at least some part of my life. I also know some folks who use Rescue Remedy to relieve their stress. You can pick it up at any health food store and many drugstores carry it.
