I'm curious too. I had a lap in November 06 & was able to jog after a few weeks. After this surgery I'm sure will be some time for me anyways.
I grew up not too far from you in Cedar Springs, then moved to Muskegon.

Ask your doctor. I think mine released me at four weeks, but I'm not sure. Besides, there's no blanket formula...each and every surgery and patient is different. Only your doctor knows for sure.

when to start running

I was released at 6 weeks and was told very sternly by my Dr NOT to start before or I would jeopardise my recovery.
I'm now at almost 2 months, and have started running again, but boy it feels hard. I have lost fitness, but also, my body gets tired very quickly as I guess it's still healing...

running afterwards

I just went to my follow up appt. it has been five weeks today. My doctor released me to run last week it has been great I feel pretty good. I was walking through the recovery period when could not run. using treadmill and incline a bit . Running is feeling very good, we are having snow here, so it is alittle slow to run outside, I dont feel as I am starting over. hope all goes well for you. The 4 week period was like a turn around with the tiredness actually could get through the day without feeling like a nap at3:00 . they say it only gets better . T ake care

when to start running

Well done! You go girl! It's weird to think of you running through snow when it's summer here. I went out again this morning and I'm getting stronger slowly. It's great to be able to run and not collapse with pain! Keep me posted on your progress - I'd love to hear.
