Cyst on only ovary!

I'm still recovering from getting my left ovary out on the 4th of this month and now my right ovary has a cyst on it....OMG, I'm so upset about this.
I have not been to the doctor yet of course, but I'm about 99% sure because of past experiences with cysts on my left side (classic symptoms). It's atleast telling me that it has started to function after the surgery, but yet, I'm not happy with the outcome.
I'm just so sick of this, but yet, so afraid of menopause 10 years early. I knew that there was a possibility of this happening but just prayed that it wouldn't, atleast not so soon! Has anyone had this problem so close to their ooopherectomy? I'm hoping things will settle soon for I can't stand the pain between recovery and the cyst. I'm sure my doctor will want to see me today and take a look. I guess I'll see what she has to say....scared...?

Cyst on only ovary!

I had a TAH when I was 26 they left me one ovary to prevent me from going into surgical menapause. I am now 29 and found out a couple months ago I have a complex cyst on my remaining ovary. Doctors advice is to take the whole ovary. She said there is no way of knowing if it is malignant until they go in and remove it. I know your frustration!!! My insurance is terrible and I have decided to get a second opinion.....I feel I am too young for menapause and want to avoid losing my ovary if at all possible. I hope your cyst is a functional cyst (fluid filled) and will go away on its own. I would advise you to make an appt and get an ultrasound done. Please let me know what the doctor says and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Cyst on only ovary!

I did go to the doctor and they actually did CT scan because of the other symptoms I was having. Turned out that I have an infection in my colon and a small functional cyst on my ovary. Not happy, but because it is a functional one and they have always resolved themselves, my doctor and I have decided not to even acknowledge that it's there..... Trying to just stay positive, for it's to early to worry about loosing the other. Hopefully it will adjust to the change and stop rebelling.
I feel so bad for you, you are too young to be going through this. Very smart to get a 2nd opinion, or even 3rd. I hate seeing women doing what their doctors tell them without knowing the consequences or other alternatives. Different doctors have different philosophies. I don't think most health insurance policies are good. We are paying dearly with med bills and ours is better than what alot of people we know is. Sad!
Well, let me know what your second doctor tells you! It's really bothering me! Best wishes!
