Piratesparky
I have to admit I am very jealous!!! But happy for you!!!! I'm 2 weeks today as well but don't have the energy yet. I too am an avid exerciser and weight lifter but I'm just not there yet, and I am not going to force it. Our weather is COLD!!! That might have something to do with it. I just want to stay inside with my sweats and slippers on!! Maybe if you send some good thoughts my way they will help!! LOL!!!

Good for you!!

Tonight I went to get a few groceries (of course my mom drove me) and not very far in I noticed a pulling sensation around/inside where the incision is. I know I must've done too much already, but I kept on anyway & didn't think much else about it. Then tonight I went to the bathroom & there was blood & clear icky stuff on my panties. and I mean it was from my incision. The blood was lined up on my panties with the incision, so I know it was that. Unfortunately, No one in my family was awake,so I dreadfully called my Wonderful Doctor. Keep in mind it's 2:15am here. I hated so bad to call him that late at night, but I knew if I didn't I wouldn't sleep, & he would've assured me it was okay to call him when I go see him again next week. Anyway, he said it was probably nothing. To keep it dry & clean & keep it covered. But if it looks like it's trying to open up, then I need to see him tomorrow ASAP. The whole incision is really red & I have a few really deep scabs. Then the rest of it seems to be healing very nicely. After examining my incision I came to a conclusion that I must have rubbed off one of the really big scabs & that's where the oozings coming from. But now, I'm really paranoid, thinking is this thing going to open up now? It's a very deep cut & you can see something white down in it. Wonder what that could be. I'm also worried a/b this pulling sensation I've been feeling tonight. Even as I type this I feel it. Then I have sharp stabbing pains to go along with it.

Anyway, hopefully I won't need to see the doctor tomorrow. Maybe this can wait until our scheduled time for next Monday. I also just realized that I'm constipated! I haven't had any problems with having a bm at all since surgery. Now, tonight I need to go, but can't go. HELP!

If anyone has any advice on anything that I just wrote (if it made sense at all) please feel free to share!
Dear anxiousnewcomeer,

It's really easy to scare yourself, especially at night. Mostly it's nothing to worry about but everything seems worse at night.

I've had a few troubled nights since my VH and turn on the TV, read or meditate to help the time to pass until the morning.

I'm in Australia and when it's night in north America, it's day here. I check my emails regularly during the day.

So I just want you to know that you're not alone in the middle of the night.

Hope you're feeling better by now.

In solidarity

HI piratesparky.
I think it's great that you are healing well and able to restart a gym routine. You and I share the same anniversary date and procedure. Pre-op I was very active working out at the gym (4-5x/wk) with cardio kickbox, step, pilates and weight training (mostly free weights). I am so anxious to get back to do something. I know we have to listen to our bodies and I don't see my doctor again until 2/15. My incision appears to be all healed externally. I am pretty much off of pain killers except in the evening I take 1 endocet to help me sleep and if my belly is sore. Overall I feel great. I want to go to the gym to walk on the treadmill and do some light weights for toning that won't stress my lower abs, but my DH is disagreeing with me. I think at this point I know when my body needs a break based on the light house work and cooking done during the past week. Everyday I feel alittle stronger than the previous. I'd like to know how you progress in the weeks to come. Good thoughts to you and Apositive spin!

Hi annieotis,
I am sending you good healing energy thoughts. We are almost neighbors lol. Piratesparky does have the advantage of the warmer weather. And although it has been freezing, literally, we must think warm thoughts.

Hello Sisters,
just got home from my post op appt with DR. I can take a long hot bath now. Whoooo hoooo. I have really missed my bath tub.
The bleeding is normal, there is a raw edge in the vaginal stitching. I will still refrain from lifting anything over 10#. I am released to drive. No sex for 2 more weeks. No kick boxing till 2nd week in March. I can go back to work light duty in next week but I may put that off an extra week. I have a landscape company and it is pruning season. No ladders for 2 weeks.

I did get to see photos of my full term fibroid. No wonder my intestines have been rearranging themselves, they had no room before. My uterus was removed vaginally. I thought just the cervex was but the whole thing came out that way. I wondered why I was a bit sore there too.

Looks like the headache is from estrogen withdrawl. Dr. perscribed 'yam' hrt. She asked if I wanted to be a horse or yam. I opted for the yam. I am going to wait a few more days and see if my ovaries kick back in. So far only 3 today.

If you haven't gone to your post op appt yet, please make a list. I forgot to ask for a surgery report, path report and I forgot to ask about the pain on the right. My memory is like swiss cheese for some reason.
Keep healing Sisters,
Cheers

Ok, maybe I'm just dense, but what are the surgery and path reports and why do we need to ask for them? I really should start making a list, my 2 week post-op is this Thursday.

Pathology report is the analysis of the material removed from your body. This rules out cancer. I am sure that if there was something wrong Dr. would have already discussed it with me. I am just a curious sort and like to have as much information about what has been done to my body as I can have. The surgery report is a written account of what they performed on you. Again is it for my own curiosity. Information is power. I have some control issues I think or I should ahve gone into medicine. LOL
And you are not dense. Not all of us have had previous surgical experiances of this nature. All questions are valid. I had to ask one of our sisters what a TT was. Tummy Tuck. I didn't know.
Cheers

Thank you for filling me in. This was my 4th surgery (others were tonscilectomy, peroneal nerve and tendon lengthening), so you'd think I would've known..lol! I like to have all the information I can, too. After my experience with group A strep and DIC, I like to know what goes on with my body. Do you have to pay for those reports? I know when I wanted to get my records from my illness, they were going to charge me well over $300 just for making copies.

Btw, I wouldn't have known what a TT was either. I'm still trying to figure out all the hysterectomy abbreviations..lol!

Quite often you can get these copies from your DR. at no charge. Hospitals are another thing. However I always ask the hospital for an itemized bill. I found a $700 mistake on my myomectomy hospital bill. Towanda!!!(Fried Green Tomatoes referance)
Cheers
