So tired of pain, what's next??
I do not have an infection as Dr. had thought. I don't have blood clot, Thank God!! But i am still so sick sometimes, no, most of the time..The pain in my abdomen is sometimes sharp and sometimes like contractions-spasems. My.. (warning tmi).........
bowels hurt when i have to go, sometimes sickly feeling just before bowel movement, yuck, ugg, oweeee. But I just can't figure out what is wrong. Dr. does not know, thinks it is just how my body is healing. Anyone else at 3 1/2 weeks post op feel this yucky and in pain...Even hips hurt to walk and i am not over doing it. They throbbed all night last night, not that i get any sleep anyways. I am falling apart. Seems everyday i am getting more pain, not less..is this normal, if so, WHATS NEXT..Help!! Please don't tell me to call DR, i already did. She said that most of her patients at this stage are done with pain meds and ready to start back at work. Well not this one, I could no more go back to work then i could stand on my head for 8 hours, or do this Thanks for listening or reading i should say, it feels good to get it out, even if no one can help. Just venting helped!!

Sorry you're feeling that way. I hate to say it, but I would think the doc would be more concerned since she says other patients don't experience this. I know I went to my doc yesterday for unexplained vaginal pressure and he ordered a CT scan for today to make sure all is well. I'm not having much pain really. I know we all heal differently, but if you don't feel right - you know your body best. I would call your doctor and tell her so and find out what she can do to make sure your're okay. With pain, it could be so many things, or this could just be how your body heals. Hang in there! I hope you feel better soon!

So tired of pain, what's next??
I am at 3 weeks today and everyday it seems I have a different complaint. I went to Walmart last night and my hips felt like they were out of place, my back too. My bowels hurt real bad when they move - whether it is just gas or a BM. The skin on my lower abdomin is so senstive I can't stand to touch it, so I know what you are talking about. I think some of us just take longer to heal and feel pains and twinges stronger than others.
I always take longer to get over a surgery than the "norm" and I am a fairly physically fit person.
Some of the posts can make you feel like you are behind in the recovery process but then you will read about someone who seems to be having a harder time than you, it just proves we are all different...and I don't think we should feel bad about needing a little more time to heal. One post I read said that as we heal more nerves come back which would explain having more pain than a previous day.
Hope this helps....Hang in there!

Big
Patience, it is still very early after surgery... we all heal differently. And the continuous progress will go on for some and hopefully since you feel you aren't making any that one day you will wake up and go 'WOW! I feel great!" (may that day be soon).
Some of us turn the corner slowly and others at break-neck speed. But we all eventually turn the corner.
The nerves coming back (re-connecting) is a very different 'pain' than the post-op pain you have felt. I call them 'Zingers' - think massive 'sting'. They don't last a long time but can take your breath away. Since that particular area had no sensation till the 'Zing' - you may be more tender there now that the nerves are talking. My SAH incision was tender for months -- about an inch each side of it was very sensitive to touch. That too ended with time. Allow yourself the time and try not to judge your progress by others' - and neither should your doc.
Went shopping Memorial Day weekend at the Mall - and I limped out - sharp pain on one side of the incision (not carrying anything) that went down my leg - I even had to sit and have DH bring the car to the nearest entrance. That freaked me because I had been doing very well since 2-1/2 weeks.

Thanks all!! Sandy, you hit the nail on the head, zingers, great word for it!! Today is a really bad day, which is why i posted, i know that there will be bad days, and when the good ones come it will be wow, but i have not had a good day since about day10. Seems that all heck broke loose after that. i am so surprised at how bad i am feeling since my surgery went so well, other then blood pressure issues it went great. I do thank you all for taking the time to read this and for your suggestions, it is so important for us all to stick together in our "bad times" and especially those of you that have been through this for so long. Your input to what is going on to us new commers is so very important, not that newbies arn't, its just that you have "been there, done that" already and I truly appreciate your experience. Best of luck to you all and AGAIN, thanks all.
