Back to work and feeling tired

Has anyone else started to get tired after working for a few days?

I know my pace has been too fast, but there is so much to catch up on and do. The 2nd day back in the pool and I was feeling how much I still need to take it easy. By mid afternoon I was missing my nap! I just wanted to lay down anywhere and take 5!

Oh well, so much for that! Everyone is so excited to see me back that they can not wait to tell me what I need to do for them. It is great to feel needed.

Our work sponsors a Healthy Journeys Program. To kick it off this year, they are having a weight loss challenge starting next week and running through May. I decided to join. I have some more weight I would like to get off my body and I thought the money might motivate me to be 'the biggest loser'. It is a 20 registration and then there are teams. So you can win as a team or as an individual. Is it too soon to think about losing weight after surgery?

Personal opinion - go for it! - in moderation. You will not be able to handle a heavy duty exercise program but you can eat healthy and exercise lightly. If everyone else is doing 3 days a week of exercise - then do 6, but lightly.

Good Luck - I hope you win!

Back to work and feeling tired

Hi..........it does take awhile to get back into the groove at work. I went back on Jan.3. ( I am a teacher.) I had to leave exactly at 3:00 for the first week back. (I usually stay till 4:30 !) I still get tired some. I sure do miss my afternoon naps !

Back to work and feeling tired

Oh, yea...I went back to work Jan 2nd half days and I am still taking afternoon naps. Tomorrow I start back full time. I know I am going to come in and collapse on the sofa and fall asleep.

Back to work and feeling tired

I go back to work on Monday. I also feel like I am needed there. I e-mailed my principal to tell her the doctor has release me and her response was "It will be really good to have you back." I am a little nervous because I get tired in the afternoon as well. Luckly from my prep is 1:45-3:00 4 times a week. Basically I can relax during that time and leave if need be.

Back to work and feeling tired

I take the kids to school around 8am and go to work from 8:30-3pm the go pick the kids up from school. Usually about 5-6 i'm ready to pass out! I haven't been sleeping that good but that would have to do w/the # of losses my family has experienced in the last month. Tonight i went to "workout" for the first time and couldn't even "run" a 1/2 mile .. insides started to hurt! I went to a few machines (works the inner and outer upper thigh area) and i thought I was going to die. It hurt my pelvic bone sooo bad and i'm use to doing those w/no problems! SO i've decided to hold off a little longer on the whole "exercise" routine. But i think once i can get there it'll help with the "tiredness"!

Back to work and feeling tired

I went back to work right at 6 weeks...I work at a desk job shuffling papers all day...yet I am exhausted most nights. STILL! I am now 3 months out...and not feeling more energized. Feel a lot better physically, but for the energy level. Ah well, time heals all wounds they say...guess in time I will feel energized again!

Back to work and feeling tired

I have been back to work right at 5 weeks. I was ok until this week. I am soooo tired because I have been on the go all week. Luckily, I have some downtime tonight and am going to enjoy a nice hot bath. One good thing about being tired, I sure sleep a whole lot better!

Getting back into my exercise routine has been frustrating since I lost much of my strength training and it doesn't take much to overdo it.

Back to work and feeling tired

I am going back at 5 weeks, but I can't go to the gym yet. The doctor has not cleared me yet. As it is I am not aloud to walk up the stairs. The only thing I am aloud to do is leg lifts. So I live with it.
