feeling blah!

Hi, TAH + ovaries was Jan.9 - in from Tues.-Thurs. felt great. Sutures removed Following Tues. and then steristrips off this past Mon. It's now Friday and I am beginning to feel really yuky. I've been great til now. I have had no energy the last two days, my incision area feels picky and I have a productive cough ( since surgery). Can't figure out why I feel so blah, when I have felt so good. No menopausal symtoms though. Did have chills but they are gone. My husband has been great with doing everything, I started making suppers again though, but otherwise he does everything else. Good man! I do feel alittle guilty though.
Has anyone else felt great and then all of a sudden become very tired and yuky?

feeling blah!

Hi Carolanne,

I had a several periods of "down" days, when I just didn't feel quite right. I think that you are probably normal for 2 1/2 weeks post-op. The pain meds have worn off, and you are into the hard part of letting your body heal. Sounds like you are resting well. Are you walking a little, just around in your house, a few times a day? That will help your circulation, which will promote the healing process, encourage bowel function, etc. Also, be sure to drink plenty of water - it's cold, the heat is on, everything is dry, and you need the extra water for all of your functions. Make sure you spend some time each day lying down to rest. If you have the breathing apparatus from the hospital, use it for extra breathing exercise, otherwise just do some deep breathing a couple of times a day.

Try to focus on the resting and walking and extra water this weekend. If you continue to feel bad after a couple of days of extra rest, check in with your doctor.

Hope you feel much better soon.

feeling blah!

I had surgery on 1/8 and the last two days I have felt really yucky and tired. Almost like the flu is coming on but no fever or anything. I'm assuming it's normal!
