Thyroid and Estrogen dosage

Here's some info that may be important to those of you that have thyroid disease and require estrogen replacement. I know from personal experience that my thyroid dosage has changed since adding estrogen/progestrone into the picture.

The New England Journal reported this week that women on thyroid hormone replacement who are starting estrogen hormone replacement therapy -- i.e., Premarin, or Estraderm, etc. -- need monitoring and potential dosage increases to avoid becoming hypothyroid. If you're menopausal and hypothyroid, this is must-read info.

Thyroid Articles

I subscribe to the about.com thyroid articles and frequently get emails to the new articles out on thyroid related issues.

Perhaps those of us that come onto this hystersisters website may be interested in going to about.com, find the area of thyroid, and subscribe so that articles are automatically sent. If one has no interest in a specific article, just delete it. Otherwise, some good information will get sent to you without having to search it out.

Thyroid and Estrogen dosage

Thanks Jill for the link to about.com. I was interested, as I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I subscribed to the newsletter. I'm going to tell my stepmom about it too.
