numbness in leg still not going away

I haven't had any bladder problems. I had an abdominal hysterectomy and I'm numb under my bellybutton. It is getting smaller but as it does it feels like someone is poking me with a sharp pin. Hang in there

did you bring the leg issue up when you went to the dr.? It is important for him to know this as you may want to have a doppler U/S to rule out a DVT ( blood clot ) I have similar symptoms at my 2 week post-op and he sent me straight to a vascular surgeon to be checked out.

numbness in leg still not going away

Tomorrow will be 5 weeks since my surgery. When I was leaving the hospital I noticed that my upper left thigh (front to the inside) was completely numb. I told the nurse and she said "Thats ok, don't worry". I asked my doctor (he called me at my 1 week at home to check on me) and he said it was caused in surgery and it was not uncommon because of the position they have to put you. He said it could take months but it would slowing come back. I do feel it coming back now I can sort of feel it when I push on the skin it feels almost like a bruise and I don't really like the feel of anything rubbing on the surface. I do rub lotion into the area and keep rubbing so I keep the blood flowing. I can not say that is what you have but that is what my doctor told me and I have read many threads on this site regarding the same thing. Wishing you a healthy recovery.

glad to hear that the numbness is "normal" I had it the day of and after my surgery even for about 3-5 days afterwards but now i'm fine it's gone it's been two weeks now. my numbness was in my right lower leg calve area. I'm glad it feel normal again b/c I didn't like the feeling of having sat on my leg until it fell asleep.
