C-C-C-Cold Monday, Feb. 5th

It's after midnight, so it's officially Monday!
Someone asked (Nanno?) about the elephant...yes it's the bike. You've heard of the expression "the elephant in the room"...the thing people ignore though it's right there in front of them...in my case, my bike!

A cold day today. Hoping to see the dentist about my toothache. DgD will be over too. Good thing DH is home 'cause I really don't want to take her out in the weather.

Have a great Monday.

Good Monday Morning Ali and all my BEST friends. Congrats to all you Colts fans.
I fell asleep before halftime sorry I am in Basketball mode. I think the best part of the game was Billy Joel singing the National Anthem - He's a Long Island Boy - I miss Long Island some times.
Well I am just checking in before I leave for the hospital (or do I still get to call it the castle lol). I will hopefully check in with you sometime tomorrow. Until tomorrow - stay warm and eat healthy. Lynn

I'll be thinking of you, Lynn. Maybe it's already too late for you to read this. 6 degrees below zero in my car this am. Cold even for my part of Michigan. Let's all try not to go to comfort foods!!!! Take care and stay OP. Thanks for the elephant info, Ali. I thought that was what was being referred to but couldn't get the reason, now I do

Morning everyone

Lynn... Look forward to "seeing" you tomorrow.

I decided to take the day off... nice day to snuggle in the house. Computer shows it's only 8 degrees right now, and the winds make it much colder!! I'll be out there today though as I need to get to the food store.

Today I'm back on track -- breakfast was an orange and yogurt. I'd like to have some soup for lunch... and dinner will be salmon w/ veggies. I have grapefruit and apples for snacks today.

I'm hoping to get to the gym for a nice 30 min workout... and then I'll have to take the dogs out for a walk later.

Congrats to the Colts -- great that the underdogs won!!

Have a great day

C-C-C-Cold Monday, Feb. 5th

Well I'm back already because I need to post while I"m thinking about it, otherwise the day will get away from me. I say this because I had my first age-related zing in a long time, and by golly I can show (myself) that I'm not over the hill or feeble at age 54! When I was 22 and entering a bar, my friends said they were checking id's so tried to show my i.d. and the guy brushed me off, so then I asked if he'd look at it just to humor me and he got mad. So okay, I've looked older than my age since I was 10, but still! Then this morning at the coffee place I was asked how long til I could retire, and I said it would be best if I waited until I was 60, blah blah and then she said something like, "it's good that you can still do it at your age" meaning keep up with things, I suppose, but I also interpreted it  as it was good I could still think at my age! So today I promise to be productive and intelligent. Tomorrow we have an all-day training out of town, so I'll need to think tomorrow too. that will be exhausting.

I have dashed out to my car 4-5 times this morning, silly me (um, is it my memory??? Maybe she saw something I didn't?) having forgotten numerous things, so I'm counting that as extra exercise. I will also take the time to measure the length of our halls so I can calculate how many hallways I'll need to travel to add a walking mile to my day.

Yesterday I did take one on his walk, but I realize that he's not the walker that my others have been. He would rather stop and sniff, sniff, and wait a minute, sniff some more, than trot along with me at an aerobic pace. We'll work on that, but in the meantime I'll just get back into the routine.

My screen name is not creative at all. My first name is Diane, my last is Eskenasy, so Deskenasy is what I used. I was pretty sure there would not be two of those!! But when I arrived at BEST, there was already a Dian(n)e here (from Australia) so I switched to my long-ago, long retired nickname of Desk. Had I been thinking at the time I would have tried to include something with "dog" in my screen name!

Morning All!

I'll be thinking of you too today, Lynn. Look forward to hearing from you tomorrow. You're in my prayers for a speedy recovery (and the best care!).

We're looking forward to temps near 6 degrees today. It will feel positively tropical after the weekend we had. Didn't slow us down though...Four more boxes of paperwork and two small filing boxes came home with us from M&D's. Much of it is old and outdated, so it is going fairly quickly. Best part...keeps my mind off FOOD. I love to organize things...give me a messy closet and I'm in heaven. Weird, I know. DH says it's control freakness...I suppose so. Their house is shaping up nicely.

Food was okay this weekend, although we did pick up twice. I was mindful and the two pounds are still down. I MUST ride the elephant everyday if I'm going to get anywhere with the weight loss. Breakfast and lunch will be the same, dinner is undecided. I haven't been home enough to remember what's here!

Sending 's to those who need them and to those who are doing their BEST! We're in this together!! I'll have to go back to yesterday's posts and catch up. I'll try to check in later!!

Have a GREAT DAY All!!

Red face - C-C-C-Cold Monday, Feb. 5th C-C-C-Cold Monday, Feb. 5th

Good morning to all BEST friends Its cold here in upstate NY. We're suppose to get snow today and tomorrow and it's going to be cold all week long. I went to my friends house yesterday and was gone for 3 hours. I was sore when I got home, and tired. Today I plan on staying in. I hope to do the treadmill again today, eat healthy, and get all of my taxes together. Then tomorrow will be a busy day. I want to drop off our taxes to the accountant, go to the bank, and then the grocery store. Today is day 11 postop. Time is flying right by. It seems like just yesterday that I was walking into the OR. Hope everyone has a good day, and stay warm. I'll check in later. Yvonne

Hey Desk,

Wish we'd been with you, we could have had a post menopausal women rumble!! I've always gotten those "older than my age" comments.

You're not getting older, you're getting BETTER!!

When we moved here 12 years ago, I had to run to the bank and other errands, so I dressed up cute, I thought, and walked in hoping to make new friends. The gal behind the counter asked me when I was DUE!!

Some people need to think before they speak.

's, PJ
