Lung nodule...when does it end?!?!
Well, my TAH/BSO went well, and I'm already up and around after only a week. Before my surgery they did the standard chest x-ray, and found a 13mm nodule in my lower left lung.
As far as anyone knows so far, still awaiting final pathology results, my cancer never left the ovaries, stage 1, grade 1 (figured out after last surgery when tumors were removed from ovaries) No lymph nodes, no omentum, no washings, nothing. Only thing is the borderline tumors actually started growing back on both ovaries!! I guess they're bound and determoned to grow cancer...uggh. I'm freaking out. Nothing anyone says can make me feel better. I know that here in the southwest we have valley fever, and benign lung nodules are common...but I'm so scared still.
Next week they're going to do a ct scan and some type of biopsy I think; sounds invasive!
Just want to get off the ride, you know?? To top it off, I'm moving x-country in less than 2 months!
To anyone who remembers my last catastrophe, I at least have state medicaid covering me right now, and my surgery was covered as well...

Lung nodule...when does it end?!?!
I just had a 6mm lung nodule found on a cat scan. They were looking for another PE when it was discovered.I had several Cat scans since my surgery last march when they discoverd the PE . Now I am really worried about the lung nodule.
I lucked out and had no cancer although they suspected it when I went in for my exploratory lapratonomy last march and they removed my remaining ovary and I got the PE...
Now 11 months later I have a 6mm nodule and no one can say its NOT cancer.

Lung nodule...when does it end?!?!
Dear Hope,
I am so sorry for the rotten news. I realize that, as of yet, there is no definitive answer for what that nodule might be, but it is distressing none-the-less. It seems as though if our bodies betray us once, we become a little wary. When it happens twice, like in your situation, it is hard not to be hysterical. The only thing that helps is when someone actually tells you that it IS NOT cancer.
A word of attempted comfort: I have heard of many people having lung nodules show up on CT scan and PLENTY of them turn out to be nothing. I have a brother-in-law who had a case of lymphoma and had nodules turn up in a scan several years later. Turns out he just has benign nodules in his lungs. They don't grow or change, they just sit there. As it was explained to him; some folks have em' and some folks don't. Go figure.
Feel better and keep us posted.

Lung nodule...when does it end?!?!
Hi Hope.
It is great to see you up and about so early. That is a good thing.
I am sorry to hear that you have to deal with this now too. I certainly hope that it ends up being absolutely nothing!!! There was a post back about 1 -2 weeks where the lady had lung nodules too and they ended up being benign. They also had a discussion on the post about how the biopsy on the lungs was done. If you want to read up on it, I am sure you could do a search on this site.
I am really glad to hear that you managed to get state medicaid. That was an absolute fiasco. That is the last thing that you need to be worrying about right now.
Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. You deserve it.

Lung nodule...when does it end?!?!
Hi Hope222,
A nodule does not always mean cancer. I am so glad you are doing well after surgery. I am also glad you got the insurance.
