4 months - Sore and a New Shape?
Hi, ladies. I might need to change my name on here soon to The Discouraged and Depressed. I'm 4 months post-op and still so tender and a bit swollen. Where my massive fibroids used to live there is now a jiggly void that shakes when I laugh and a very rounded tummy under that. I still am suffering from swelly belly and a lot of tenderness just above my incision area and near my belly button if I push on it (enough so that I still can't wear my usual jeans and things.) Is anyone else out there experiencing these symptoms? I had a SAH, kept ovaries and had quite big fibroids. A friend suggested that I go back to the doctor but I'm wondering if this is just the normal progression.

it just takes time
I am 6 months out and still have swelly belly on some days. When I have overdone it I am sore all along my incesion. I also have phantom pains where my ovaries used to be. When i am really strssed out my ovaries used to hurt horrible and now that they are gone I still have pain occasionally when the stress levels are running high. My doctor told me it would probably be a year before I was truly healed. I will deal with these little aches and pains, they have nothing on what I was going through before. I had everything removed due to cysts and endo.. It will get better, for me it already has.

4 months - Sore and a New Shape?
Hi the optimist,
I think you have a good friend who had some very good advice. Your doctor is very familiar with your specific health concerns and could give you the best advice and info as to how you're healing up. A quick call to the might even take care of things - but an office visit would be worth peace of mind about your recovery.
It seems to me that most Sisters heal up very differently. I have a "shelf" over my incision and have trouble finding jeans . Perhaps some of the other Sisters could share their experiences with you?
I hope you find the answers you're looking for.

You are not alone! I have a swelly belly quite frequently. And jeans? What are those? If it doesn't have an elastic waist, I don't wear it. LOL...I even changed a pair of panties yesterday morning before I headed out to work...the elastic hit a funny spot and it hurt...I'm getting close to 4 months and expected to be better than this...but all in all I am feeling much, much better, so if I must have these quirky problems, so be it!!!! I try to laugh about it....which is not always easy as I have no hrt either...Today is a good day...that is all I can say! Take care fellow princesses...
