Anyone with Rheumatoid Arthritis & Endo

I had a TAH/BSO for severe endometriosis. I am on Enbrel for RA and had to go off it for several weeks before surgery. At that point I was beginning to really having problems with swollen joints, etc. It is now 3 weeks since surgery and since then I have not yet had any flares of the RA so have not gone back on the Enbrel. I have read there are some suspected connections for people with RA also having Endo but wonder if anyone else shares these two diseases. I also cannot believe how well I am still feeling without the Enbrel. I am hopeful that the surgery has jumpstarted some type of remission.

I don't have RA but I do have Lupus. I actually thought my Lupus was in remission after surgery because I had NO PAIN from the Lupus. Unfortunately, after about 4 weeks, things started to return.

I hope for you, things will continue to be ok. That would be wonderful.

I was just diagnosed with RA. I was told a few years ago they thought I had it, then I guess it went into remission. But I was having problems and went to get blood tests that showed RA. I am so tired recently and achy.

Hope This Helps...

I have RA, Ankylosing Spondilitis, OA, and fibromyalgia. My endo started at around 15, that's what the doc guesstimates. I was tested and officially diagnosed with the arthritis by age 17. Yes, I have read that there are connections between endo, arthritis, auto-immune disorders, and of all things tooth decay. My back went into a flare right after surgery, before I even left the hospital. Hard to tell if the pain is from surgery of from my arthritis. I have devoted all my spare time to try and find a way not to be on a ton of meds. It's helping, I'm only on two right now. Hope this info. helps. You are not alone.

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately, the remission seems to have been short-lived. The RA started flaring up again during the fourth week and I am back on the Enbrel. It was nice while it lasted. I also have Sjogren's Syndrome which causes dry eyes, mouth, etc. I also have had lots of tooth problems and have never been sure if it was from that or just connected to the RA or medicines.
